Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton will campaign in Roanoke on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 10), holding a town hall-style meeting at Patrick Henry High School. The 4:30 p.m. event is open to the public.
Clinton's appearance, announced by her campaign Thursday night, will come two days before Virginia's presidential primary. The senator is scheduled to speak at the state Democratic Party's Jefferson-Jackson Dinner in Richmond on Saturday night, as is her chief rival, Sen. Barack Obama. She will hold a town hall meeting in Manassas on Sunday before traveling to Roanoke.
The feminists and libs from Virginia Tech will pack the room for her. Just for the record, Roanoke is NOT South Western Virginia. Southwestern Virginia is three hours west and south of Roanoke. There’s an old saying back home that the buck ($$$$) stops at Roanoke, and it’s true.

It's disheartening to note that, with city council elections coming up, Roanoke republicans cannot find even one candidate to field against 6 Donkey contenders.
I can’t be there but I do want to encourage someone in the crowd (as an infiltrator?) to carry a sign that says,
“Seat The MICH & FLA Delegates!”
Roanoke is west central Virginia. Abingdon, Bluefield, Marion, Wytheville, and Norton are south western Virginia. Two completely different political and social cultures.
Your comments got me curious. Perhaps you would be interested in this site also:

I think, from reading the information on the site, that Roanoke, because of the direction in which its river flows, is in a different region than are the southwesternmost counties of Virginia.
But then, the website goes on to talk about the largest city in southwest VA, Roanoke. Go figure.
Well, Roanoke and its libs like to think that it's in SWVA, but it really isn't. Growing up in real SWVA but also living for a couple of years in Blacksburg, the difference between Roanoke and the rest of the region is quite stark. Really and truly, from Blacksburg on down, everything west of I-81 (running along the Holston and Clinch River Valleys) to the Kentucky line is true SWVA.
With all due respect, folks...we need bodies to show up for the freep!!
The freep is on...we meet at Patrick Henry High School at 3:30 at the main entrance.
Gopher, I’ve been out of town since Thursday and won’t be back in Roanoke until Sunday evening. We’re visiting the grandbaby.
Would love to be there! Hope you have a great turn out. Give “the Beast” my regards & Freep on!!
We had 4 people there for the freep and made the liberals mad...but about 4:45, the crowd started leaving....we were told she could not land due to high wind.....there IS a God!!!!
Broomsticks are hard to control in high wind.....
