If you think McCain won’t be better than either one, you’re wrong
The Collins Report ^ | Feb7, 2008 | John F. Allen

Posted on 02/08/2008 5:01:34 AM PST by jmaroneps37

…..I do not like John McCain.

I like socialist women and the most liberal senator in America less, far less. Our party’s primaries have been hijacked by casual voters, liberals, moderates and even Democrats.

Our Evangelical friends have to shoulder much of the blame for giving us McCain. They have unfairly called Mormonism a cult and now all of us will suffer the consequences …I’m damned mad about this, but I can’t do anything about it. [ McCain] will be elected. America will not select either Democrat over him. Many Hillary hating Democrats will vote for McCain.

..the conservative radio talkers did all they could. They are now the de facto leaders of the conservative movement. …accept facts. Some of them insist McCain can’t win. I very much disagree.

Each conservative has to make a personal decision. We can swing wild in blind anger or carefully think things through. If you are old enough to vote, you are old enough to have been disappointed or you really haven’t lived much of a life. We don’t always get our way. If we jump wrong now, out of anger and frustration, we will insure …putting America, no our own families in danger. The danger of picking wrong at this point is history can not be over stated. …grievances against John McCain are [not] unimportant. They are very important. [but]we seem to be losing the fact that vicious Islamist terrorists want to kill us and will kill us and our children if we have the wrong Commander in Chief. ..a willingness to put aside the importance ..war against terror and make believe a Hillary Clinton or a Barack Obama would keep us safe from further attack is where I step off of the anti- McCain bandwagon. These three people are simply not interchangeable.

Maybe he should be publicly pressed on issues like the “fairness” doctrine. Now is the time, when he’s courting our vote. If we tell him to go screw, he will and he’ll screw us as he’s done before. We can at least put some heat on him and hold out the carrot of support... no?

They would pick a Dem acceptable candidate as well...but they are Democrats. There is no reason for a conservative to vote for McCain.

My, how patriotic of you. By not voting for McCain, you are essentially voting for Obama/Clinton.

Congress is what we need to focus on. Win it back, and the conservatives will pressure McCain into doing what's right. But they will have no influence on Obama/Clinton.

This is a very sad, telling tale! Like I said earlier, when all the analysis is complete, we will find that John McCain is NOT the real choice of the Republican Party, but the choice of a very few.

And remember, half the states haven’t even voted yet.

"By not voting for McCain, you are essentially voting for Obama/Clinton.

That ignorant TRUE statement is getting really old to the immature, petulant, "my way or the highway" whining childrenhere.

Allen got this dead on in his article:

"I believe deeply that we should have closed borders; no abortions, private ownership of guns, low taxes and certainly for a strong military. With McCain we might not get some of these; with either Democrat we will certainly get none of them."

It is time to vote against the democrats and work toward building a true conservative party while the RINOs hold the White House.

I hate McCain and almost all he stands for -- but my hatred for Hillary and my fear of IslaBama's tratorious ways are infinitely greater.

For anyone claiming to be a "conservative", giving our nation to the Democrats is nothing short of treason,

You whimpering pups who whine that "If I don't get my way, I'll take my marbles and go home" make me nauseated! (It is you who are "nauseous" -- look it up...)

I agree with the article. I’ve weighed all the options and I agree that even as bad as McCain is, he is far better than Clinton and especially Obama. But I am going to predict that most Republicans won’t vote or throw away their vote to make a point and we are going to wind up with Obama. I am very afraid.

ANCHOR: For a detailed analysis of what is happening tonight ... we go to Tim Russert. ... Tim ...

RUSSERT: The shear enthusiasm for the Democrat candidate tonight is seen in both the exit polling and in the live vote count. NBC is projecting Hillary Clinton will be the POTUS before the polls close on the west coast this evening. The Republican candidate, John McCain, has both failed to win a single state, nor has his support broken the 30% level in any state so far. Bob, if this isn't a mandate for Hillary Clinton I don;t know what is ...

A year and a month later ...

RUSSERT: OK, President Clinton is about to give her historic State of the Union address.

CLINTON: Good evening, I stand here before you tonight to proclaim the state of the union is strong. Thanks to a filibuster-proof congress, we passed the most sweeping health care reform in the history of this country. [she raises a small card] I hold in my hand my personal Universal Care Card that I will use when I visit the doctor. Within 90 days every person living in the US will be issued one of these cards. Should you require medical services from your doctor without a card you will be promptly entered into the Universal Care database and a card will be issued for you on the spot. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle]

Thanks to a filibuster-proof congress, we repealed the tax policies of the previous administration and have enacted the Income Tax Fairness Act; which has resored fiscal responsibility to the financial policies of this government. To ensure we will never go back to the failed policies of giving tax breaks to the rich, I call on congress to implement my recently proposed Financial Accountabilty Act. With this sweeping legislation it is mandatory that any proposed decrease in federal revenue receive a 4/5-ths majority vote to enact. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle] No longer will the committments of the US government be obligations on the backs of the middle class. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle]

I stand before you tonight with Sg. Major Joe Jones [she points to the balcony at a young man sitting next to former President Bill Clinton] who officially is the last US serviceman to come home from Iraq. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle] Its a fine testiment to what a committed American people can do in just one short year. Though the political and economic situation in Iraq remains challenging, we look forward to working with Prime Minister Muqtada El Sadr to restore political and economic prosperity to all Iraqis.[thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle]

To ensure America is never again placed in a position whereby a President forces an illegal war on our great country, I call on Congress to pass the Congressional War Budget Reform Bill. This historic legislation will make it impossible to release the funds to fight any war for any reason unless the troops have the proper equipment and training BEFORE we commit them to battle. This will ensure that Congress has the shared responsibility of declaring that our country must sacrifice our brave young soldiers on the battlefield. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle]

With restored fiscal accountability complete, we must now ensure the devisive politics of the past remain in the past. To achieve this end, I am proposing the Responsible Voice Act, which will guarantee that our citizens are not exposed to hate speech from groups who would seek to undermine our government, who instigate economic and political instability, who encourage the denigration of members of our population who have different views of religion, sexual orientation, and gender issues. No longer will our citizens fear being oppressed by hate speech in any media format. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle]

You know ... education is so very important to the future success of our children; and to ensure our children can achieve the American dream I am proposing the Every Child Moves Ahead program. We will no longer allow our public education system to be systematically undermined by private institutions who reject the common values of our great nation. We will rid our country of all public and private institutions and individual programs whose chief end is to poison our childrens minds with ideas that are not comensurate with our nations shared values. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle]

The state of our economy is strong this evening. With the passage of the Morgage Reform Bill, millions of Americans who were held hostage by the big banks have been allowed to remain in their homes. I call on congress to inject another 200 billion into the American Housing Protection Fund. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle]

You know, when my husband put 1 million more police officers on the streets of the US, people mocked him as a dreamer. Well I call on congress to release the funds to place another million police officers on our streets ... to keep our kids safe and oversee an orderly society based on our shared common interests. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle]

As many of you know, my administration has demonstrated a willingness to allow those countries that have joined the common family of nations to share in our common committment to provide security to the world stage. With the United Nations Security fund reaching historic levels, I have received a communique from Aleha Mohammad El Takriti that the US can safely reduce our military personnel by 60% in the next 2 years. I propose we commit to achieving an 80% reduction in the next 18 months. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle] In this day and age of shared responsibility with the world community, I think America should lead the way to achieving a peaceful co-existance with those countries who have struggled to join the family of nations. No longer should our military encite violent reaction from countries that are embattled in an economic struggle for freedom. We should work more closely with them on a diplomatic solution to their economic disparity.

Finally, my fellow Americans, we must strive to end the silly debate about whether mankind is responsible for the changing climate of our planet. With the publication of the definitive work on Global Climate Change by Ambassador Gore and Secretary Moore, there is no longer a debate about the causes of global climate change. Given the alarming and eye-opening projections from their scientific results ... WE MUST ACT NOW or forever condemn this planet to catastrophic events of Koranic proportions. Now that every home in this country has been purged of energy inefficient lighting, we must now move on to more important measures. With the price of oil approaching $200 this week, it is more imperitive than ever that we fund research into alternative energy sources. To assist in this important activity, I am proposing the Help Find The Alternative fund. This special investment in alternative fuel sources will be funded with a small surcharge on profits from Microsoft-Exxon and from a one-time subsequent tax on individual investors who possess shares of Microsoft-Exxon in their 401K plans. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle]

Finally tonight, I want to thank those of my collegues who have played such an important role in restoring our countries shared values. First, Speaker Pelosi and Senate majority leader Reid, without whom we could not have passed any of this sweeping legislation of the past 12 months. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle] Chief Justice Ted Kennedy who was so gracious to step in on short notice when Justice Ginsberg was taken too ill to serve. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle] To the Secretary of Homeland Security Madelene Albright who has done such a great job ensuring our citizens are protected from unfair monitoring of their private lives. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle] To the Secretary of Defense General Wesley Clark. Secretary Clark was solely responsible for the smooth transition of our troops from the battlefield of Iraq to a more humanitarian role of ambassadors of peace in troubled southeast Arizona. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle] And finally, to my darling husband ... President Bill Clinton, whose love and devotion all these years has inspired me to make this historic journey with you ... the American people. Good night ... and god bless our great country. [thunderous applause from the Dem side of the isle]

"...For anyone claiming to be a "conservative", giving our nation to the Democrats is nothing short of treason..."

Perhaps the RNC and the GOP leadership should think of that when they shove a liberal RINO down the throats of the party. McCain will receive a thrashing, and the conservatives are not to blame, the McCain wing of the party is to blame.

I don't plan on sitting out any election. I plan on voting for a conservative, so it won't be John McCain. Tough luck if he loses, huh? You should have all thought about that when he was steamrolled over the voters.

We must work to elect real conservatives down the ticket. Staying home is not the answer!!

McCain will be far better for the military, and we have a better chance of getting conservative judges with him—we have ZERO chance of getting them with Hilbama.

God help me, I’ll support McCain if he is indeed our nominee! GG
