Old news. I almost posted this 3 hours ago.
Not as bad as it appears, from what I’ve read.
I hope it’s just injuries and not fatalities.

“Sugar Refinery Explosion Injures Dozens”
POSTED: 9:43 pm EST February 7, 2008
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Port Wentworth, Ga — Authorities in Savannah say dozens of people were injured in an explosion and fire at a sugar refinery.
No deaths are reported immediately at the plant owned by Imperial Sugar and known as a longtime Savannah landmark as the Dixie Crystals plant.
But a witness describes widespread damage.
Sergeant Mike Wilson of the Savannah-Chatham County police says there are an unconfirmed number of injuries, but possible from 50 to 100.
Ther is not immediate word of what caused the explosion about 7 p.m.”
Stepson on the scene - approx 200 injured. 35 critically injured (mostly burns) at Memorial Medical Center. 10 critical burn patients being transported to Augusta Burn Center. There are fatalities according to my stepson. Approx 60 workers unaccounted for but some may have already left the scene with minor or no injuries.
It’s bad. Prayers needed for the community and the victims and families.
Oh dear, let’s pray now.
Dear Lord,
You know the needs of the victims and their families.
Please guide the EMS, doctors, nurses as they tend to
the victims.
In Jesus’ name I pray this humble prayer.
Amen.
Prayers going up.
I’m watching on the TV. I’m about 10 miles away.
This is the worst thing of this type that has happened in my memory around here.
The ambulances lined up outside of Memorial is creepy.
Praying now for injured and their families.
Oh my, so sorry for your area. Prayers to all involved.
Prayers up for all.
have you heard anything further from your stepson?
he’s here now talking to his Dad and decompressing. it’s really bad. the building is still on fire. there are people still in the building and fire crews are going in to search in shifts. no official reports of fatalities but from what he’s saying there may be some. he worked this shift until about 3 weeks ago.
Hope everybody got out, sounds bad. Latest report 100 injured at least. 35 serious.
There are supposed to be 30-35 people in critical condition at one hospital.
I’d be surprised if they DON’T find dead.
Burns are the worst. Those poor people.
Prayer ping
Prayers up!
