Republican John McCain asked disgruntled conservatives to support his presidential bid on Thursday, shortly after Mitt Romney ended his struggling campaign and made McCain the all-but-certain nominee.
McCain assured a conference of conservative activists he was one of them, citing his commitment to win in Iraq, halt Iran's nuclear ambitions and rein in the federal government while drawing sharp contrasts with potential Democratic opponents Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.
McCain's speech, which drew boos on the topic of illegal immigration, followed by a few hours Romney's surprise announcement at the conference that he was ending his run to allow Republicans to focus on the November election.
"I feel I have to now stand aside, for our party and for our country," the former Massachusetts governor told the shocked crowd, some of whom gasped and shouted "No, no!" in response.

I prefer to let the dems have a chance to screw things up for the next four years. Just great... Instead of helping destroy our country you might support real Conservatives for Congress and on the local/state level and create a counterbalance to McCain. We can't stomach 4 years of Hillobama.

There are two reasons I will vote for McCain.
Reason #1
This guy needs a Commander in Chief to fight the terrorists. We are in a War, and this guy is fighting for us, we need to watch his back.
Reason #2
Al-Qaeda and the Socialist Marxists need these people for their agenda.

McCain does not deserve our vote, only our contempt. How can anyone who is concerned about the future of this country support McCain with his extreme left amnesty votes that includes voting against the Cornyn amendment - he wants terrorists admitted to US and he wants massive amnesty and perks for illegal aliens. He has too much baggage - adultery, sleazy scandals, some not yet revealed as indicated by NYT's coverup..
He has no credibility. His lies have been too numerous, blatant, and vicious. His behavior and his appearance hint at signs of dementia, steroid use, and/or sociopathic personality.

I was actually wondering how I could shorten it.
Perhaps I’ll have to make it into a graphic, and attach it to all my posts for a few days.

Not if my life depended on it.
I will not reward the bad behavior of John McAmnesty McCain by giving him my vote.
This man is ill-prepared to lead the greatest country on Earth.
He is not a conservative.
He will destroy the conservative faction of the GOP if elected and the party itself.

“McCain asked disgruntled conservatives to support his presidential bid “
Mr. McCain, In the spring of 2006 millions of us disgruntled conservatives begged for your support to enforce the borders. You called us stupid.
The next year, we did the same thing and you called us lazy....and offered us $50 an hour to pick lettuce.
You’re on you’re own. The guys that got you here (no conservatives that I know of!I) can get you the rest of the way. After you lose this time, how about spending some time in the Senate doing your job instead of campaigning like you have for the last year.

I don't think we can afford four years of Dems in the White House... we do not need any liberal supreme court justices.

I’ll have to pass on McCain, but I don’t have any votes left. If I did, it would go to Huckabee now.

IN case you have not figured this out yet, this is a test of wills between you (and your values) and the Liberals and Moderates (RHINOS and thier values).
The RHINOS are willing to bet that they can keep playing the "Lessor of Two Evils" game with you coupled with a BOGEYMAN political approach of pointing to the Dem candidate (whoever it may be) and they hope you will fold and give up your principles for thiers.
The problem with falling for this game, is that they keep moving the goal line to the left. The candidates the GOP Elite keep putting up are each time a little more to the left.
So far, we, as conservatives, have caved every time and that goal-line has kept moving to the left. The real question for conservatives is where is that proverbial "line-in-the-sand" for us where we say NO MORE!
This goes to basic Human physchology. If a person thinks they can get away with something and you have re-inforced that opinion by allowing them to get away with it, they are only more emboldened and brazen in their attempts to keep getting away with it.
There is another approach that we as conservatives can take as well.
Accountability
We, as a group, can decide that this is our "line-in-the-sand" and unite and say NO MORE! to the RHINO elites in our party.
They are not the base, we are!
We can ignore the BOGEYMAN politics, write-in our favorite conservative of choice and gird our loins, so to speak, and endure the next 4 years of either Clinton or Obama.
The result will be a much stronger AND CONSERVATIVE GOP and the elites will learn a lesson.
Ignore us at your own peril!
Or, you can cave again to the RHINOS, they will have learned nothing from the experience and we as conservatives will become like Slaves on the plantation.
You have a decision to make here, Are your principles important to you?
