A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day....02-06,07-08...Warm Fuzzy Wednesday ~ Finest Zoo (Revisit)

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 200,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY

Ever stop to think about all the animals that frequent the Finest? There are bears and birds, dogs and kitties, foxes, owls, wolves...! And Elephants everywhere! (No donkeys need apply though!) :)

Now the Finest isn't like just any zoo - our animals are very FRiendly - no fences or cages for them - in fact, this one may greet you at the door and insist upon a hug before you enter. (females only, of course.)

You may even find a bear in the kitchen cooking up some of her special brownies.

The Finest isn't all about animals and birds, of course - we have among us, to name just a few:

And we mustn't forget these Finest Animals and/or FRiends of Animals (and a Critter gift for each) - in no particular order:

A few little critters didn't get used, so if you have these letters in your name, please feel free to take them. I used "Comic Sans Ms" font in a size "6" to spell the rest of the names. Wish I knew someone whose name started with "Z" - love that zebra!

And you are terribly sweet in saying so! Hope little Chachi is doing good. I have tried to read everything you write about him. Maybe the roughest part is over. Hope he will be able to walk pretty good, too! Bless his heart!

Hope little Chachi is doing good.

He is doing great! We are so blessed and thankful that his recovery is going so well. The only hard part is keeping him quiet. His surgeon doesn't want him jumping or running until about the middle of April. Chachi has other ideas, however. He thinks he is feeling 100%, even if his back legs are still not working real well.

One big problem we have right now is with a little kitten that is hanging around our yard. He wants so badly to play with Chachi. However, Chachi wants to kill kitty (or acts like he does - but I don't think he would actually hurt him), so keeping them separated is very difficult. The last thing Chachi needs is to have his eyes clawed on top of his back surgery. Besides, wrestling around with a kitten would definitely not go over well with Chachi's surgeon.

Other than that, things are going very well. Here is a photo I snapped a few minutes ago. His fur on his back is starting to grow back nicely too. :-)

It looks like he is in a cage, but he actually has the run of the family room. Still, he won't be truly happy until he has the run of the house again. LOL

That is the sweetest picture....(in jail). I know its good but little dogs don’t quite understand but I guess he does with all the love you all are giving him. He’s gotta know he is loved!

Is your camera very expensive, M.B.? Just wondering...its takes great pics.~

Thanks. It's a Fuji A310 (point and shoot). I've been very happy with it, but I have no idea price-wise how it compares to other cameras on the market. My husband knew I wanted a camera that didn't require a lot of user knowledge to operate but would take good photos. He is a professional photographer and really doesn't know much about the "point and shoot" market, but he did some research and picked this one for me. It's a couple years old. I guess Fuji is still selling them. You could do a Google search on it and see.

Thanks for info....My son wanted to go with me to get one but I am getting tired of waiting. He can’t help it..he is very busy with his job and is out of town a lot. Think I will go looking and see if I can find something I like and then I can tell him about them. He will tell me the truth!

May I share a pic of my new guy - Max? He's my foster, soon to be forever doggie.

I apologize in advance if this is a huge pic. I don't think it will be....

Am glad you liked the zebras and frame, thank you! It’s fun to experiment with different fills - I see Kitty and Meg (and jaycee will, too, SOON!) are experimenting with different frames and edges in PhotoFiltre. Don’t despair, Meg - you will certainly become proficient with it as you did tables!

Yes, Max is a cavalier KCS. He's a real people person (dog), and so smart and ... just personality plus. I call him Maxwell Smart :) We picked him up (he was an owner-surrender) Jan 18, and am hoping Feb 14 will be his "gotcha day." Still awaiting the papers to sign....
