A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 200,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY

Ever stop to think about all the animals that frequent the Finest? There are bears and birds, dogs and kitties, foxes, owls, wolves...! And Elephants everywhere! (No donkeys need apply though!) :)

Now the Finest isn't like just any zoo - our animals are very FRiendly - no fences or cages for them - in fact, this one may greet you at the door and insist upon a hug before you enter. (females only, of course.)

You may even find a bear in the kitchen cooking up some of her special brownies.

The Finest isn't all about animals and birds, of course - we have among us, to name just a few:

And we mustn't forget these Finest Animals and/or FRiends of Animals (and a Critter gift for each) - in no particular order:

A few little critters didn't get used, so if you have these letters in your name, please feel free to take them. I used "Comic Sans Ms" font in a size "6" to spell the rest of the names. Wish I knew someone whose name started with "Z" - love that zebra!

Have a Wonderful Warm and Fuzzy

Morning, dutchess. I didn't get back to the thread yesterday after you were here. I think many of us feel just the way you do in that cute pic you posted. That picture is SO cute, but am inclined to believe those pink rollers were photoshopped - or 'glued' on! LOL

Glad you enjoyed the thread again - we got us some mighty cute animals at the Finest! :)

Keeping my feet up instead of sitting is the answer for me...
I downloaded a whole file to get one picture ...and made an error
in where it was to return. Now I have a file to put a picture I want to edit in before I start the program lest I make that mistake...
Of course I don't even understand most of the terminology to really
utilize most features but it did what I wanted it to with this picture.

Billie, can that whole alphabet be downloaded...it is just so cute!

Yes, they can, and I'm pretty sure I posted every letter from A thru Z in the opening post, so you can save and download all of them if you want to.

Need something to make me smile after Super Tuesday.

I think we all do. This is not the election most of want. :( But I am still holding my breath that Bloomberg stays out of it.

Poor thing. You should not have to download and entire file folder in order to get one file opened in PhotoFilter. I will open the program and see if I can figure out what the problem is. First I need to download the program again because I hadn't re-installed it when I transfered my programs to my laptop.

That is a gorgeous image, and such sweet birds. You did the frame in PhotoFilter? It looks nice.

You don't really need to learn the terminology, just play around with the different features and you will find what you like. Eventually you will know the program inside out. :-)

I'm doing well. And, I'm glad, since your time is limited on FR, that you stopped by here.

Take care and visit us when you can. :-)

Good morning to you, Lady Jag. Don't you just love Billie's Zoo? I enjoy the Penguin exhibit, and the bears too, of course.

(I love this animation, but the file is a bit large. Let me know, Billie, if it is causing problems and I will delete it. That is the thing with so many good animations, they tend to be large files.)

That is very creative, using the individual frames of an animation for a graphic. Nice work. Now must get back to "Montana", almost finished. :-)

PhotoShop probably opens animated gif files in individual frames, too. I've used the individual frames of an animation a lot - the monkey was one of the better ones because the frames are all so different!

Thought of your upcoming Montana profile last night. We watched a movie called "Montana Sky" - cowboys of course. :) Big ranch, lots of horses, etc. :) (See, I told you I hear "Montana" and immediately think of cowboy country!)

It’s pretty large, Lori. :( It opened, but took a while, of course. The reason it’s so large is because it is 49 individual frames, and the whole gif animation has even been compressed, so imagine what it would be in bytes if it hadn’t.

Me too! I have a LOT of cowboy "stuff" on my Montana post, in fact, at one point I said to myself "enough with the cowboys, already". But the images are so much fun to work with and there is so much available on the internet. I love horses, cowboys, and anything having to do with the "west". (Wolfie provided me with the cowboy images that I am using in my ping graphic. I don't know where he found one of them because I scoured the internet and never came across it anywhere.)

Anyway, I did try to include other interesting information about the state when I realized I was going way overboard with the cowboy thing. LOL :-)

I can remove it from the server. I just think it is so doggone cute. I could try compressing it more, when I get a few minutes. I have finally learned how to do a few things with animations in Photoshop’s “Image Ready”.

It is cute - I’ve seen it before. I’m not sure it can be compressed anymore than it already is. The way my Gif Construction program compresses animations is to remove any redundancy of colors, etc. and every frame except the first one has had that done. Of course the more frames one has, the smoother an animation is to begin with!

Yes, there is a part of Photoshop called Image Ready that opens gifs in their individual frames.

I have tried working with some animations. Wow, what a challenge! Layers are difficult enough to keep track of, but when you are working with multiple layers on multiple frames it can be really tricky keeping track of where you are. I just haven't had the patience to spend much time experimenting with animations.

If you think that's a big file, you don't want to see elephants doing that.

Right. Some could be removed, but it would probably make the animation jerky. The reason it is so good is because it has so many frames.

I'll remove it now. No problem. :-)
