LIVE THREAD II
They are calling that McCain will win the popular vote there and CA's 11 bonus delegates for having done so. However, because this race was called so early, you're talking about Romney being lucky to win 5 or 6 CDs, or only 15-18 delegates!
I think McCain is getting a ton of delegates.
It is by district not by county. See:
http://vote.ss.ca.gov/Returns/rcd/index.htm
(Beware the link is overloaded right now...will be slow or error for awhile)
McCain is getting Independents and Moderates who only watch TV for their information, along with Democrats who didn’t care for Hillary or Obama. Huckabee is getting the votes of church goers who only listen to evangelical groups like the AFA and their pastors.
And just so you know, don’t expect any responses from me in the future. I don’t want to waste my time.
Headline: "McCain, un republicano rebelde que aboga por regularizar a indocumentados"
(TRANSLATION) "McCain, A Republican Rebel Who Will Stand For The Regularization of The Undocumented"
It goes on to talk about how he opposes the conservative base of the GOP and yet is headed for victory nevertheless.
Wonderful, folks. JUST WONDERFUL.
Turn out the lights, America. The party’s over, dude.
It seems quite clear that conservative blogs are not a very good indicator of how Republican primary voters will vote.
Perhaps conservatives have overestimated their own influence.
IMO, the folks who are voting for McCain have gotten sick of "conservatives" and their single-issue antics. Conservatives might want to learn from their mistakes -- but many or most will not.
Anyway, that’s no more legislating morality than laws against murder or slavery are legislating morality.
I think I’ll take another Valium and go to bed. What a depressing night. Even FOX fauning all over the Dems.
Sad evening for America that we couldn’t put forth someone of real quality and character to be the leader of this great nation. All the choices are inferior.
I dont see how they could call anything...not one vote cast today in LA or Orange County has been counted yet.
I don’t know if it’s legal or ethical,
but he’s doing it. Would love to see
him hit with a violation, if he’s trying
to have it both ways.

No public funds for McCain

Let’s see.....Churches ARE Churches......Governments ARE Governments.....think you can keep the concept? Sheesh.
oh my gosh...look at the votes for Guiliani, Hunter, Thompson, Tancredo...maybe sincere votes but wasted !
Oh Sweet Jesus. Tell me you made that up.
What I've been screaming and wondering all night.
Most popular answer: They knew him from the TeeVee.
Pretty funny coincidence.
Anti-McCain is one thing.
But his competition is a Baptist preacher and a Massachusetts liberal.
There was no one to rally around. Liberal Romney was DOA, he won his home states and a few small caucuses.
W may have been able to do more- but when we put Republicans in both houses and they did not live up to our expectations either- the blame can’t be put all on Bush.
They are calling CA based on the popular vote. CA does award delegates by legislative dist though or something like that.
I’m signing out myself. It isn’t over yet. McCain still needs another 500+ delegates. We coud end up with a brokered convention.
Good night all!
