But I was just listening to Glenn Beck saying that Hilary Cinton will be better, that Bill Clinton's election in 1992 was the "best thing" that ever happened to America, that the country will be in such dire straights after four years of Hilary, that a "Churchill" will be needed to sort it out.

Many Freepers have consistently stated that Democrats hope for a bad end in Iraq in order to make President Bush and the Republicans look bad. How is the above statement any different? Vote for Hillary and ruin the country??

Bravo

Conservatism isn’t going away.

But, with McCain ...it could very well die a horrible death.

McCaine will never be President.
He has been manufactured by the MSM and democRats.
I just heard his very sincere message on immigration position..ugh.
I proceed..when he is the candidate, the MSM will attack.
1. He is dumb..he graduated near last in his USNA class and would never have made it to USNA without his Admiral lineage.
2. He was an unreliable aviator. He lost three planes before he went to VN. Pilot error was covered up by USN due to his father.
3. He was a party animal.
4. He was a bad flight instructor, disliked by his students and peers.
5.He was given special treatment as a prisoner due to his father.
6. He abdandon his faithful wife who stood by him when POW.
7. He has a terrible temper, is vengifull and used racial terms(gook).
8. He negotiated to be a democRat.
All that and more will be vented on him..and he will never be elected.
I must add that most USNA grads I know don’t like him due to personal experience or “service reputation”.

...at least until the full enactment of the Fairness Doctrine ends its existence forever along with everything else that’s truly conservative. Terrible things are truly heading this country’s way for awhile. Prove me wrong on all of this.

Good answer.

In the long run, if the leftwing of the Republican Party takes control of the Republican Party - which it will if John McCain is elected - the American public will be robbed of an alternative to the leftist policies of the Democrat at the polling booths in the near future. At least until an effective third political party can be heard.

Just as conservatives failed to support the phony policies of another Rockefeller Republican, Gerald Ford years ago and forced the Country to undergo the purge of Jimmy Carter, they must do likewise again in the event McCain and his Bible toting, pro-illegal alien, tax and spend, pardon and release liberal buddy Huckabee get nominated.

After TWO YEARS of Obama or Hillary, Congress will revert to the Repubs and they will take the Presidency in 2012 - if they are smart enough to learn their lesson.

The only way to purge the republican party of the likes of maccain, huckelberry and guliani is to let them all go down in flames in this election. If they prevail, it will just continue to get worse for the party and the country with no way to turn it around.

I believe that is true. However, it might be a feeling like the Christians who once stood in the middle of the Roman Coluseum.

FreeRepublic will stand where it has always stood.

If you say she don't stand as she stood, rock-bottomed and copper-sheathed, Ol' Dan'l is liable to r'ar right up out of the ground.
