Hillary Clinton cries in Connecticut (On Drudge)
Swamp Politics ^ | Feb. 04, 2008 | by Jason George

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sen. Hillary Clinton teared up this morning at an event at the Yale Child Study Center, where she worked while in law school in the early 1970s.

A doctor, who was introducing Clinton, began to choke up, leading Clinton's eyes to fill with tears, which she wiped out of her left eye. At the time, the doctor was saying how proud he was that sheepskin-coat, bell-bottom-wearing young woman he met in 1972 was now running for president.

"Well, I said I would not tear up; already we're not exactly on the path," Clinton said with emotion after the introduction.

Clinton is holding a roundtable discussion with Connecticut women to talk about childcare and healthcare.

When Clinton got misty-eyed at an event in New Hampshire on Jan. 7, politicos and pundits filled hours discussing if it helped her, and Clinton eventually pointed to the moment as when she "found her voice" and turned the corner in the Granite State.

At the time, there was much debate if the candidate's emotional response to a question -- "How do you do it?"" -- was genuine or calculated.

Let the conversation begin again...

If this county vote this lady just because she cries , we are in HUGE trouble.

If this lying, arrogant, Communist, criminal, sociopath phony is elected, there will be plenty of crying, but not from her.

It’s gonna be a real treat to see her and McCain in a big “cry-off”.

I think you are right. Or maybe she had a fight with a significant other.

"Mrs. Clinton, if I may be so bold as to suggest,
why don't you grow a pair?"

With all due respect: Penn Rhodeen who introduced her, a child researcher, was also her former boss at the Yale Child Study Center. There is some warm felt history here, when her world was more of a safe haven from scrutiny?..then she went on to meet her husband here as well. ;)

This underlined summary of her campaign stop only drives the women voters over to the Hillary camp when the press jumps on this "tearless" criteria needed to become President of the US.

Times changed and the safe haven is not politically there anymore as; Obama has won the hearts and idealistic minds of New Haven's Yale students, winning last week the endorsement of the student newspaper, the Yale Daily News.

I want to remind people, and I am not a Hillary supporter, that in Buzz Patterson's book, Dereliction of Duty, writes of how President Clinton had ignored ongoing calls from Intelligence on Bin Laden's vulnerable visibility and positioning calling for directions to act. Of course, the President would not respond after ongoing repeated calls and some on the other end challenged Patterson (carrying the Nuclear Football) that it was he that was not relaying the message. They went on to pick up Hillary after the golf game, and she asks Patterson when climbing into the limo of the issues of the day and he tells Mrs. Clinton of this call. Patterson claims Mrs.Clinton became very irate and directed Buzz to make a call-back immediately; leaving it that he had better do so, if it took all night. The President seemed motionless. Patterson said he did not comply as the window of opportunity had closed. Very interesting book worth the re-read.
