CANTON -- Hope Steffey's night began with a call to police for help. It ended with her face down, completely naked and sobbing on a jail cell floor. Steffey says Stark County sheriff's deputies used excessive force and assaulted her during a strip search 15 months ago, according to a federal lawsuit.

I’ve been thinking over your reply to my questions.

The policeman considers the law as it is in his area. He is supposed to keep the peace and enforce the laws as they have been handed down to him by your elected representatives, and do so in a manner allowed by the courts.
If you’d rather have every cop in your area handling his duties as he sees fit, and what he believes to be constitutional, you’ll have anarchy.

I’ve been thinking over what you said and have a few more questions:
If your chief said to you,” Sergeant, our beloved mayor is very unhappy about what his opposition candidate said to him at the debate last night. I want you to go to his house and shoot him and the rest of his family!”
I suggest you would interpret the law and say, “No way! That would be against the law”
However, our Constitution is our most fundamental law and the Ten Amendments are written in the most clear terms of any law I have ever read. And yet, you don’t want the policeman to refuse an order because that would be anarchy! What we have now is leading to anarchy!
Saying the individual shouldn’t apply his interpretation of the Constitution sounds a bit like the “Nuremberg Defense”!

Do you know the facts of the case? For example, why the lady was taken in, in the first place? There's more to the story ... aren't you the least interested in learning more, before you cast your final judgment?

The comparison is apt: then, as in this case, we have a bunch of folks all hot to judge the situation based on a video with no context, and the "facts" all provided by the plaintiff.

Not enough facts here so please don’t bash the cops until you know all the facts. Because rare cases of abuse exists so many are ready to bash all cops without knowing the facts.

Yeah but none of it makes the cops look any better. Spent more time than I'd have liked in Canton and surrounding hellholes, and Stark County sheriffs make the Durham NC police department look like the FBI. She's gonna own these pigs when all the dust settles.

Finally made it home to watch the video. Having once been found guilty for a crime I didn’t commit, there’s very little that makes me more upset than watching this video. If that was my wife... I don’t think I need to say anything else.
