yeah, I have sold my soul to support a man who obviously is prolife now and has helped create alot of jobs. He also wants to lower taxes and eliminate the capitol gains and death tax. Ummmm, looks like a good deal to me. Maybe I will still have my soul after I vote for Mitt, what do you think? Forget it, I believe you are lost in your thinking, that’s your problem. Lost in thought so you can’t see your quiet commonsense.

Well, you just get your butt down and vote for McViper, who probably only in his whole life saw a Bible on his swearing in, and not since. Or before, for that matter.

yeah i am not arguing with anyone in here that things are in a messy state. I agree.

I think the two parties are blending into one party that will lead us further left; more illegals who will vote for more left wing changes etc etc.

I just think romney is the best way to go out of what we have now. Like i said earlier: hillary care sounds pretty scary :P

I somehow get the sense its intent is not to provide the best medicale care

Naw, I’ll let you vote for McRino.

As for me and mine, we’ll have nothing to do with him, either.

No socialist healthcare is good. It’s horrific in Canada. And I’m now hearing horrific things coming out of England.

What I find absolutely astounding are conservatives where I live wanting this kind of healthcare because private care has become so expensive. There needs to be a way to fix that problem (I think placing caps on lawsuits is but one way; I think making laws that judges need to throw out frivolous lawsuits is yet another).

I was saying that since both Senators were from the same state and all the voters in the state get to decide who they want to represent them. Then it should make no difference if Rick Santorum backed Arlan Spector or not. The problem is with your analogy. Let say Alan Spector gets knocked off. Then the new Republican would go against a new Democrat. course there wasn’t much difference between Alan or a Dem. No, what i was getting at was you were blathering on about Sen Santorum because he supported Mitt Romney. of course that is what the thread was about wasn’t it. you anti Romney guys every time Mitt get an endorsement or wins a caucus or state primary you guys come out of the woodwork and start slamming Mitt how he is a liar or flip flopper. Why do you care about Santorum anyway your in NEW YorK?

well my philosophy on the matter has always been: even if i did not have insurance i’d rather know that good care was available on demand to save my life. Even if i have to spend the rest of my life working to pay off my medical bills :P

The thought of socialized medicine in alabama (where i live) is particularly scary to me after hearing about the veterans hospital

Because you are using Santorum as somehow to tout his credentials over into a NATIONAL election which does effect me here in NY. You see, I’m part of the United States and have a say of who I wish to see as president.

I pay special attention to all elected officials because I do write to them or call their offices because they cast votes. I pay attention to what Senator Sessions is doing and saying because he has shown himself to be a leader in an area that effects ALL Americans, not just his own state.

You do realize that senators are on committees and make decisions that will impact ALL citizens of these United States when they create and vote on laws, do you not?

I have heard from other people, in other states, that the VA hospitals are quite substandard in care.

Well this is an interesting thread. Looks like folks are ripping the meat off of each other, rather than going after the enemy.

Heads, they win. Tails, we lose.

No he supports Fred but Fred dropped out. couldn’t get any traction. No Denaro out of Mula. short of cash. He blames the establishment but really there were to many candidates courting the conservative vote. Fred was conservative. Romney was conservative. Huckabee is questionable about being conservative. Ron Paul is not even close to being on this planet. Then there is John McCain who is a liberal-moderate-(conservative when convenient).

yeah i am disappointed at the divisiveness myself. I believe that the real tangible enemey right now is hillary/silly-name.

everyone is entitled to their opinion however. If someone hates romney then that’s great; freedom of opinion is great.

However, i question if that hate is detracting from what the real problem is gonna be (when we all find ourselves with a potential more eight years of the clintons and a battle to keep medicine from being socialized beyond return ).

the democrats are weirdos. most politicians are a bit crooked but i am really struck by the fact they are trying to sell america into obama or hillary. ugh ugh ugh.

if either of those two wins i will never watch tv again (until things change)

I expressed my opinion on a candidate. I did NOT, however, tear another FReeper to shreds who dared to dissagree with my opinion.

There’s a big difference between expressing an opinion vs. lashing out at someone for having a different one.

The Maine Caucus To Pick Who’s Unpledged

Maine’s Republicans are voting today. And tomorrow and Sunday. They’re caucusing up there.

Only Republicans and previously unregistered can vote:

Any registered voter enrolled in the Republican Party may participate in the town in which they are registered.

If you are new to town and haven’t registered to vote or if you’re registering to vote for the very first time, you may do so 30 minutes before the caucus at the location of the caucus.

If you are registered to vote but not enrolled in ANY party (you are listed as “Unenrolled” on our towns voter list), you can enroll as Republican 30 minutes before the caucus at the location of the caucus.

If you are enrolled as a Democrat or Green Independent and you wish to participate in the Republican Caucus, you CANNOT switch parties at the caucus; you must change your enrollment at least 15 days prior to the caucus at your town office.

As usual, because it’s a caucus, there are bizarre rules. Among them, apparently all of Maine’s delegates are supposed to be unpledged, no matter what happens:

6 district delegates are elected by caucus participants from each of Maine’s 2 Congressional districts. These delegates will attend the Republican National Convention officially “Unpledged”. [The Rules of the Maine Republican Party as Adopted at Convention on May 5, 2006. Rule 32-A.]
CD 1: 3
CD 2: 3
12 delegates are elected by the Maine State Convention as a whole. These delegates will attend the Republican National Convention officially “Unpledged”.
3 party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the Maine’s Republican Party, will attend the convention as unpledged delegates by virtue of their position.

Having said that, there’s unpledged, and then there’s “unpledged.” Those delegates have to vote for somebody when they get to the Republican National Convention.
