There is also other information available. It takes time to be able to sift through to figure out what Romney's current, past, past past, etc., positions were/are. For instance, concerning RINO Romney, being a conservative means one does not voluntarily force clerks to issue wedding licenses to same-sex couples.

Experts: Credit Romney for homosexual marriage 'What he did was exercise illegal legislative authority'

"What Romney did [was] he exercised illegal legislative authority," Herb Titus said of the governor's actions after the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court released its opinion in the Goodridge case in 2003. "He was bound by what? There was no order. There wasn't even any order to the Department of Public Health to do anything."

Romney Violated Massachusetts Constitution by Ordering ‘Same-Sex Marriage’

44 U.S. pro-family leaders signed letter asking him to recant illegal orders
Meg Jalsevac | HARRISBURG, PA, January 19, 2007

A letter addressed to Massachusetts’ ex-governor Mitt Romney has just been made public in which 44 conservative, pro-family leaders from across the nation requested that before stepping down from office, Romney would adhere to the Massachusetts Constitution and repeal his order directing public officials to perform ‘same-sex marriages’.

The letter was hand delivered to members of Romney’s staff on December 20th, 2006 at his office. Romney took no action to adhere to the letter’s requests before he left office at the beginning of the New Year.

The letter cited numerous, historical cases and the Massachusetts’ Constitution to assert that Romney’s actions in implementing ‘gay marriage’ were beyond the bounds of his authority as governor. The authors further asserted that his actions were unconstitutional as were the actions of the four initial judges who formulated the official opinion on the matter in the ‘Goodridge’ case, the case that originally brought the matter to national attention.

Commenting on the ‘Goodridge’ opinion, Judge Robert Bork said that it was “untethered to either the Massachusetts or United States Constitution.”...

I listened to the following tapes (as well as all the others; there are 8 audio links altogether) in their entirety and found them quite enlightening and educational concerning RINO Romney. I think reading and listening to each of them is time well spent.

The Romney Same-Sex Marriage Deception Boiled Down

On November 7, Sandy Rios of WYLL-AM1160 in Chicago interviewed John Haskins, a former journalist and editor who is now a political analyst with the Parents’ Rights Coalition. in Massachusetts.

The page with the audio link to the full interview is here; the link is at the third paragraph. The last quarter of the audio is on another topic.

In advance of Mitt Romney’s “I am (insert name of his religion here), hear me roar” speech on Thursday, I am providing selected audio excerpts from the Rios-Haskins interview, along with full transcripts of those excerpts after the jump (if you’re on the home page).

There really is no substitute for reading the whole transcript or listening to all audio segments. But, as with the “Romney, the Courts, and the Constitutions” series, as a service to those in a time crunch, I am boiling it down, this time providing key quotes for each segment.

A HT and intense thanks to Matt at Weapons of Mass Discussion for creating the separate segments. If this is to make a difference, it could not have been made without you.

Part 1 (audio link)

Key Quotes:

John Haskins — “…it was something strategically very significant when he promised the Log Cabin homosexual Republican group, when he was running against Ted Kennedy bank in 1994, running for the US Senate, that he could be more effective than Ted Kennedy in advancing the gay agenda. …. that is a profoundly significant statement and an insight that Romney had — that as a Mormon, as a Republican, he had far more leverage to implement a radical gay agenda than a Democrat could have had.”

Part 2 (audio link)

Key Quote:

Haskins — “….. while campaigning for governor in 2002, Romney secretly promised to the Log Cabin homosexual Republicans that when the anticipated ruling came forth from the court, that he would abdicate his constitutional duty to defend the Constitution.”.........................

Creating a means for homosexual marriages is not a conservative position.

Then there's the issue of RomneyCare; that's not conservative; it's socialistic. Socialist health care is bad. Canadians already know this:

A Short Course in Brain Surgery

A Short Course in Brain Surgery highlights the plight of an Ontario man with a cancerous brain tumor who crossed the border to the U.S. to get the medical care that is rationed in his home country.

Additionally, Romney has by far and away appointed liberals to the bench. That is anything but conservative. More importantly, it is not something that should be dismissed as unimportant.

Governor Romney appointed 36 judges but a check of their political affiliation confirms that only 9 of them are Republicans. Two are radical gay activists and 14 are registered Democrats. The remainder are unenrolled. Since Massachusetts Democrats are among the most pro-abortion Democrats in America, we have to assume that the majority of Romney's judicial appointments are NOT pro-life.

The article, above-cited, lists additional concerns that conservatives have with Romney and who he claims to be.

Romney on Abortion - 2002
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_w9pquznG4
The following article speaks volumes about Romney's conservatism:

http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2005/12/09/romney_says_no_hospitals_are_exempt_from_pill_law/

Romney reversed his stand and in the process obligated Catholic hospitals to provide abortificants.

What you call vitriol I call telling the truth. For a Fred supporter to go from supporting a Conservative to a lying liberal sleaze like Romney makes about as much sense as having an anvil dropped on your genitals from a great height.

Hasn’t McCain been working with Lieberman recently to raise taxes on fuel? He’s also big on regulations as with McCain/Feingold and the phony greenhouse gas issue.

Well, since your not going to support Romney, pick one,

22% McCain (DBM approved)
19% Paul (DBM approved)
5% Huckabee (DBM Approved)

Remember all, only the bottom three candidates are Drive-by approved.

Am I to infer you'd rather have Hillary than Romney?

Yes. So please support an actual Republican so it doesn't come down to that.

2. McCain ran for President in 00 and his Conservative Credentials were never questioned.

&&&&

During the past seven years, McCain has done his best to undermine everything that President Bush tried to accumplish, and I believe that he did it out of personal anger at losing the election to Bush. He may even be more conservative than Romney, if one does a side-by-side lifetime comparison, but his actions of the past seven years in the Senate were his choices to make and they comprise his current record.

That kind of personal animus is the main reason why I think he would be unsuitable for the Chief Executive position. However, I do not think he is a core conservative, but plays the game well. Just as the Mitt-detractors cannot get past Mitt working with dems in Massachusetts, I can’t get past McCain siding with dems so frequently in the Senate.

The MSM will be in a purple funk tonight and tomorrow!

I don't think so. All they'll have to do is downplay this, which I fully expect them to do. This will get 10 seconds late in the local evening news.

Here are the official rules in Maine.

* 6 district delegates are elected by caucus participants from each of Maine’s 2 Congressional districts. These delegates will attend the Republican National Convention officially “Unpledged”. [The Rules of the Maine Republican Party as Adopted at Convention on May 5, 2006. Rule 32-A.]
o CD 1: 3
o CD 2: 3
* 12 delegates are elected by the Maine State Convention as a whole. These delegates will attend the Republican National Convention officially “Unpledged”.
* 3 party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the Maine’s Republican Party, will attend the convention as unpledged delegates by virtue of their position.

If Romney wins by 30% like he’s leading, the 18 elected delegates will be his supporters. the 3 party leader delegates is more of an unknown, but given his margin of victory are likely (but not guaranteed) to be be for him as well.

We know you hate Romney and are spamming countless threads with your hatred. The above thread-killer post would be more effective with the posting of links instead of chewing up half a thread with your baloney.

McCain will win the nomination. I think that is obvious to everyone with any sense.

Now that leaves the one prime issue.
THE WAR(ALL of it not just Iraq).

This isn’ an elections about obscure bills or simple ideological beliefs.
Its is an election that may very well determine if your Nation is a shining beacon on a hill or nothing more then a turd on top of a midden heap.

If its found when all is said an done that the Democrat got elected and promptly runs home because “conservatives” sat it out. I for one will never forgive you and I know for a fact 10’s of thousands of US soldiers will not either.
