That was my greatest area of concern with Ron Paul, and that is why I had earlier wobbled over to Duncan Hunter after Tancredo pulled out.

OTOH, Ron Paul was not so much against remaining in Iraq as he wanted it done the Constitutional way. He wanted a WAR declared by Congress, not just be over there like in an undeclared war. Congress refused his bill.

So...I don’t think he’s truly as weak as he has been (imo smeared) portrayed. He wants things to be done according to the Constitution....the right way.

The best we can hope for with Juan McCain is that he picks Fred or Mark Sanford as his running mate and drops dead after the general election. In fact, I’m counting on it. He’s already older than his dad was when he bought the farm. See, you gotta look on the bright side. ;-)

I find it unlikely that McCain will pick Fred as VP and find it even more unlikely that Fred would except the second spot to such a back-stabbing maniac.

More likely Mitt will support the accross-the-board conservative platform he is running on now that he no longer has to pander to his commie, tree-hugging, abortion-loving, Mass-a-2-sh*ts constituents.

The problem is most of us are also aware of McCain’s liberal record but worse his hostility to conservatives and the country in general. With Romney I believe conservatives will have a seat at the table and will be able to work with him. McCain won’t even want us there.

Mitt Romney = $50 abortions ! Come ‘n get ‘em !

You know that is dishonest. That was not done by either the Governor or even the liberal Massachusetts legislature. It was ordered by the judges and courts in that state. Let’s stop with the baloney.

At least one exists to put up this web site!
So to claim that none exist is demonstrably false!

I view Romney in some sense as a Cecil Underwood former Gov of WV (Though much much younger!) a GOP’er who managed to get elected in a state where the GOP is outnumbered 3-1. Yes Cecil is probably a RINO by the standards of this forum. However given the political climate of the state, that’s the best you will get if you want a GOP’er elected.
Underwood was pretty ineffectual as governor, Romney did manage to get more conservative oriented things done. For example by 2006 the state had a $700 million surplus and was able to cut taxes. (In WV, state government spending & economic malaise continued to spiral out of control! I hear this from my father, since I don't live there any more!) The rest of the time Romney basically fought a holding action against things like democrat backed socialized medicine & same sex marriage to name a few. His solutions to these challenges were not my cup of tea BUT the alternatives was going to be far worse!
I was for Fred, but Fred’s gone! It is highly unlikely that there will be a brokered convention. So any dreams of Fred riding in on a white horse and saving the day are futile.
What we have, is what we have, for me of that three Romney is the better choice. (Ok I will be generous we have 4 candidates, I still say Romney is the better choice warts and all!)

Romney is the best candidate, which gives me confidence he will be the best White House occupant. Tell me there’s one better, or are you having a tantrum because you haven’t got your perfect candidate?

“that he no longer has to pander to”

You actually believe what your wrote ?

Lemming...

Hostility... why because Sean and Rush told you McCain is bad because he did not come on their talk shows and answer the questions? and Romney came on and explained away his past very liberal positions...

So you into the flip-flopping now... hmmm

FOUR years as a liberal Gov appeasing the liberals in Mass is considered experience ??? Huck has many more years than that

Huck has many years of expericence stabbing the backs of the conservative people of Arkansas by welcoming illegal aliens into his state.

I'd much rather watch a few videos showing Mitt lying to the bugs-bunny-toothed, Kennedy-loving, baby-killing people of Massachusettes.

I guess we disagree.
