Punxsutawney Phil sees shadow, predicts more winter ahead

If you believe in folklore, bundle up for six more weeks of wintry weather.
This is Groundhog Day, and the furry little critter known as Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning. That, according to tradition, means six more weeks of winter.
The apathetic-looking rodent was pulled from his stump by members of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club Inner Circle. They are the local businessmen in the Western Pennsylvania town who carry out the February 2nd ritual while garbed in top hats and tuxedos.
The ceremony was preceded by a boisterous celebration attended by thousands of cold, but happy people, including a few couples who used the occasion to get engaged.

Hmmm....well.. there are groundhogs that hang out around the workplace...
Big deal - from what I’ve seen the choice is this:
1) He sees his shadow and we get 6 more weeks of winter
2) He doesn’t see his shadow and we get 8-10 more weeks of winter.
Either way, we get more winter.
Must not have got the latest spin from Gore, note to Phil, check Democrat talking points after you wake, and before you go out.
Punxsutawney Phil Probably buys and burns gasoline in record amounts just like the rest of the Democrats.
This has already taken place and the story is written? I guess he looked for his shadow before dawn.
Reminds me of Ground Hog Day which reminds me of this election. We are where we were when Bush ran for his second term.
I’ve been following Groundhog Day since 1977...has there ever been a Groundhog Day where the groundhog didn’t see his shadow? I don’t believe there ever was. Like the Great Pumpkin, early spring never appears.
It’s going to take him 6 weeks to dig out from under the snow I’ve got here.

Dang if I didn't look up Spring 2008 and it begins on March 20! That Groundhog was only off by 4 days! Amazing!
