So much for McCain not doing well in the south. I’m thinking Romney is not gonna be able to get the job done. Looks like it’s McCain.

Romney needs to drop out to help huck in Alabama . . .

(imitating the nonsense posts of the mitties . . .)

That said, this is bad news. Closer poll than in most states but Huck needs to hit the south hard and win these states.

Thanks Huckster. Guess you are applying to be McCain’s VP canidate.

Guess you all missed the fact that Huck is splitting the Anti McCain vote. McCain ain’t doing real well when more then half the party is voting against him. He is just doing well enough thanks to the mindless poll worshiping of the GOP Establishement drones.

9 months ago the only person who could beat Hillary was Rudy G. Where is he now? That the same place John McCain will be in Nov 2008

Funny how right you are. If Romney were to drop, Huckabee would be in good shape in GA, AL, TN, MO and OK. He still might win some of those states plus AR. If Romney was not in the race, Huckabee might pick up enough delegate on Tues to make things interesting in a two man race with McCain. Of course all the Romney people feel that way about Huckabee. LOL.

November 4 is going to be a bloodbath. You know of any good countries we can move to?

The scary thing about these polls is how poorly Romney does in Southern states. Imagine what that means if he's the nominee....

No Republican can win without the South.

Let’s hope the delegates revolt at the convention.

Is this a winner-take-all state?

No, it's not. I think you have to reach the 20% treshold in Alabama to qualify for any delegates. Romney barely gets there in this poll. Other polls had him lower. We'll see.

Huckabee has a ceiling of 35% which he will never exceed. And, that is in his base of the South. His followers are not very savvy in politics, and so they don’t see this and continue to hurt the candidate who does have a much higher ceiling (Romney) in a national general election. They seem to be content with their little piece of the pie, which will be the ultimate ruination of the party. Huckabee actually thinks McCain would pick him as the VP. That shows how delusional he truly is.

Tell me something MNJohnnie...are you going to castigate FReepers for voting for Hillary the way you did me for WRITING IN a vote in the 2006 Virginia Senate race. You stalked me all over this board, constantly harassing me for not voting for Macaca (and, BTW, NOT voting for Webb). But I don’t see your postings chiding those who say they will “absolutely support either Obama or Hillary” against McCain. Hypocrite!

Romney would have trouble winning the South even in the general. Hillary would win in a landslide.
