Tim Russert isn't practicing his Christmas tree-ornament hanging technique. The Meet the Press host is demonstrating how John McCain is dangling the VP slot to Mike Huckabee. And Huck seems as transfixed as a hound before a bone, judging by the way he's staying in the race against all odds and spending his time taking shots at Mitt Romney.
Russert was a guest during the 7 AM half-hour of Morning Joe.

Does JM really thin that will cause conservatives to vote for him? Probably. McInsane lives in an alternate universe.

LOL, remember back when people on FR thought FRED was a "stalking horse for McCain"? A ticket with McCainon it would be very, very difficult for me to support. A ticket with McCain AND Huckabee on it is well-nigh impossible. Better to let the country see what 4 years of Hillary is like, remind them (and the GOP) why the GOP was elected in 1994 and 2000, and run with a solid conservative, instead of having to try to unseat a moderate-liberal sitting GOP President.
To: COBOL2Java
McCain is crazy enough to do that. He probably believes he has to have a staunch conservative to get the conservative base to vote for him. Most conservatives aren’t that stupid and Huckabee isn’t a conservative if you look under the surface.

I believe this is a likely outcome. In fact, if I were pressed right now, I would say we’re looking at a McCain/Huckabee v. Clinton/Obama contest this fall.

He does not want conservative votes. He is aiming at the moderately left of center vote, hoping to grab some of those swing voters and Democrats who are disenchanted with Hillary.
He will nominate Huck or Rudy as VP, depending on which one he thinks can secure more states.
