Super Bowl will be watched by less than half the number of people that participated in Live Earth
KFYI | 1/31/08 | Wil H

Last night saw a glitering celebrity gala, headlined by Jay Leno, at The Phoenician as one of THE events of the Super Bowl social circuit.

It was a $1000 a seat and attended by Howie Long, Roger Staubach, Tony Dorsett, Bart Starr, Gale Sayers and many others.

During the proceeding NFL Commisioner Roger Goodell boasted that 900 Million would watch Sunday's game.

Frankly I think he is blowing smoke - even if the entire nation watches (which it won't) that would only be 300, million, and you won't get another 600 million to watch worldwide, the interest in American Football just isn't there on other continents, American Football is a North American phenomenon, it is not like Soccer which is played professionally in over 130 countries.

No matter, the point is this... at 900 Million the Super Bowl viewership is less than half of the Two Billion repeatedly claimed by Al Gore for his Live Earth event.

Of course, in reality, online statistics and TV ratings can only account for about 2% of Al Gore's actual claimed attendance, but isn't it interesting that even a great American cultural event like the Super Bowl only claims 45% of Al Gore's outrageous claims.

I don’t think Live Earth people should watch the Super Bowl, do anything else that requires electricity, or do anything that could possibly harm the planet.

On a side note, 95% of Live Earth viewers (Including Gore) are freaking morons.

Those numbers are probably as fraudulent as Algore’s claims about global warming.

Super Bowl Tickets

A man had 50 yard line tickets at the Super Bowl. As he sits down,
another man comes down and asks if anyone is sitting in the
seat next to him.

“No,” he says, “The seat is empty.”

“This is incredible!” said the man. “Who in their right mind would have
a seat like this for the Super Bowl and not use it?”

The first man says, “Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I
was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This is the
first Super Bowl we haven’t been to together since we got married in
1987.”

“Oh . . . I’m sorry to hear that. That’s terrible. But couldn’t
you find someone else - - a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to
take the seat?”

The man shakes his head. “No, they’re all at the funeral

I believe the Superbowl will raise more money than Live Aid for a better cause (corporate profits).

Animal Super Bowl

During the Super Bowl, there was another football game of note between the big animals and the little animals. The big animals were crushing little animals and at half-time, the coach made a passionate speech to rally the little animals.

At the start of the second half the big animals had the ball. The first play, the elephant got stopped for no gain. The second play, the rhino was stopped for no gain. On third down, the hippo was thrown for a 5 yard loss.

The defense huddled around the coach and he asked excitedly, “Who stopped the elephant?”

“I did,” said the centipede.

“Who stopped the rhino?”

“Uh, that was me too,” said the centipede.

“And how about the hippo? Who hit him for a 5 yard loss?”

“Well, that was me as well,” said the centipede.

“So where were you during the first half?” demanded the coach.

“Well,” said the centipede, “I was having my ankles taped.”

Drinking Coffee Two billion is one third of the planet.  One in every three people watched Live Earth?  I simply find this more than hard to believe.  I literally have hundreds of friends & business associates and I don't think I have heard a single person so much as utter the term "live earth".

That said, I'm sure that twice as many people ate dirt tonight than prime rib.  Doesn't make dirt a better deal as far as I'm concerned.  So I'm not sure what the connection is between the Super Bowl and Live Earth.

I know lots of people...many men....who don't care to sit and watch sports....some actually hate sports...my son for one....my husband likes it but if he has to go plow or bring wood in, he goes and does that.....tv sports don't hold him to the couch... we are college football season ticket holders however...

of course we'll probably watch on Sunday, but if I had something better to do, I would....

The "Two Billion" includes the majority of the Democratic Parties voting base. This base is made up of dead people in places such as the state of Washington.

When live people watched "Live Earth" they were counted multiple times, just like when they vote for the Democratic Party Candidates.

I hope this helps.

I dunno. If I recall correctly, that Altoast2000 promoted, environmental, love-fest ended in a zero to zero tie (due to all those undeclared carbon credits and all.) I have plenty of Euros riding on the line that the halftime score will be more exciting than that.

(Oh, and murrymom, you better get a few extra bags of chips for those leftist inlaws. You never know who will show up for a post-bowl handout...)
