If everyone's so concerned about this -- I'm not, and I live down here -- why doesn't someone call up the Broward Supervisor of Elections and demand an answer? The number is 954-357-7050. Don't forget to press "1" for English.

If you take the 1020 divided by 930 you’ll get 109%

If you take the 930 divided by 1020 you’ll get 91%.

My guess is that it’s a mathmatical error but it still is about double the turnout in any of the other highest precincts...... Not a conspiracy, imo.

“Do they allow voters to change from independent to Republican at the poll? Do they have election day voter registration?”

Not legally. That is, one mayregister or change one’s party, but unless it was done 30 days prior to the election, one can’t vote for the new party (if change) or at all (if new registration)

That said, I remember in 2000 being told by the clerk (in Sarasota county) that I had already received an absentee ballot (I did not) and had to cast a provisional ballot. The next year, after my dh had passed away, I went to vote and noticed that he not only voted that day, but he had changed his registration to Democrat. When I pointed out that he was dead I was asked if I could prove it.

Leave it to the Dems to cheat stupidly. This is just like a kid that copies another kid’s test paper - along with their name.

That’s an excellent question - for all states.

I live here too and am not concerned. Independents were allowed to vote on a ballot that had only the property tax issue.

109% could possibly be explained by the fact that we have early voting at select precincts. During the early voting period, people cast their votes outside their own precincts, and many did, including myself. So, where a precinct shows x number of registered voters on the roll of that particular precinct, it is entirely possible to exceed that number with early votes from other precinct voters.

Just checked and D001 is not an early voting site. Another possibility is the casting of provisional ballots.

no. the precicnt returns have the absentees and early votes rolled into the precinct they came from.

If you go to the detail for registration, it shows 366R, 381D and 176I (pretty close to the 930 shown as registered, and there may be a slight date difference in the figures I found)..

If you go the results page (really neat maps) you find 178 R's voted, which is about 50%, which is normal. The dem figures show all of the differnce, and show 509 for Hillary when 59 might be plausible. My guess is a data entry error, which will certainly be corrected when the final certification is made -- watch that site! (Remember the precinct that agitated the dems in Ohio that initially showed 4286 for Bush instead of 286)

Nah. Knowing the neighborhood, more like NY commies who were likely registered Dems voting illegally in the GOP primary.

This is nothing to just blow off as insignificant.

I never said to blow it off. I said it definitely should be investigate BUT it's not going to change the results.

"...but it's a difference of 90 votes. Hardly result changing."

Not buying into your argument. Logically, if 90 votes are questionable, all votes are potentially questionable.

ALL of Broward county votes are questionable or just this one precinct? For the sake of argument, let's assume all 1020 votes in this precinct are questionable....will it change the Florida results?

I'll say it again, it DEFINITELY needs to be checked out. But it's not going to change the outcome.

Also, the nice map and charts are a good tool for finding simple errors. If you go to the table, you see that the next highest turnout anywhere in this huge county was 63.4% (A VERY gop precinct, probably very high income). So, certainly a glitch of some sort -- you don't really think someone is picking out one precinct, and somehow actually trying to run in 400 exta votes in such a way that stands out like a sore thumb??)

The other possibility is that someone entered several hundred votes from some other precinct got entered into this sumamry page rather than where they should have gone.

I see Dead people.......

At what point does a dead person's vote not count? After they're buried, after the death certificate has been issued or once they've been pronounced dead? If they're lying on a slab in the morgue prior to pronouncement of death then does their vote count?

If the person’s death was within the time frame of the absentee ballots, nobody would say anything. On another thread today, a woman in St. Louis apparently “voted” recently, even though she died in October. Her son has admitted to filling out the ballot in her name............

How’s that for efficiency in Government?

Their County motto should be...”We can squeeze a dime, and get eleven cents back!”
