Assuming there is no shocking revelation or health issue, the GOP nomination is over. Conservatives need to start practicing the phrase "Nominee presumptive John McCa....."
Sorry, I can't say it. Not yet.
But it's true. When the campaign comes here to Massachusetts on February 5th, I'll proudly cast my vote for any option on the GOP ballot other than You-Know-Who. But it will be a futile gesture. Mr. "1/3rd Of The GOP Primary Vote" is going to be the nominee.
He's going to win the big, left-leaning states on Tuesday. Huckabee will stay in and deny Romney a one-on-one contest for GOP voters that Captain Amnesty would almost certainly lose. The result: More wins for He Who Must Not Be Named, and fewer wins for Romneyregardless of delegate count. Florida has launched the one ship that Romney's money and Rush Limbaugh cannot stop: The U.S.S. Inevitable. It's gonna happen. Even if there were a realistic pathway to stop him, the media have seized control of the process now and are declaring him inevitable. He is, after all, the favorite son of the New York Times.
So it is over. Finished. In November, we'll be sending out our most liberal, least trustworthy candidate vs. to take on Hillary Clintonperhaps not more liberal than Barack Obama, but certainly far less trustworthy. And the worst part for the Right is that McCain will have won the nomination while ignoring, insulting and, as of this weekend, shamelessly lying about conservatives and conservatism.
You think he supported amnesty six months ago? You think he was squishy on tax cuts and judicial nominees before? Wait until he has the power to anger every conservative in America, and feel good about it.
Every day, he dreams of a world filled with happy Democrats and insulted Republicans.

I’m stealing that
“Dont spend a lot of time worrying about it.
He wont.”
Not worried about it at all, but it is coming like a freight train - Thompson/Hunter/Guliani are out, Romney is a faux conservative losing steam, Huckabee has no traction since Iowa. Hillary would be trounced by McCain in the general election, and I suspect this is exactly what will happen. We will see.
Hopefully this will set the stage for a true conservative in 2012.
We live in the greatest Country in the world, and you certainly have the right to your opinion.
Don’t be so sure about McCain nominating prolife judges. He has already said he would not support an Alito.
Good luck.
“I dont think were ever going to get away from the two-party system, so I dont think your idea will work. I like the concept of it, though.”
Perhaps we are stuck with two parties. But the important question is: *which* two parties?
The last time a third party rose to power in the U.S. was in the 1860’s. The GOP came to power after the Whigs collapsed. This is looking an awful lot like history repeating itself. Perhaps it’s time to start referring to Sen McCain as the Winfield Scott of the GOP.
I don't give a flying bat crap who the VP choice is. McCain is a Democrat. He just hasn't declared as such yet. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if he flipped parties after the election whether he wins or loses.
He can't get there without our help----and he can't count on me.
If McCain has it sewed up by our March primaries I'll vote for Fred if his name is still on the ballot.
Maybe not. But he has said he would support the Republican nominee no matter who it was. Maybe that was prior to thinking McCain could EVER reach nominee status.
“Hillary would be trounced by McCain in the general election”
I don’t think so. The Republicans are toast.
“I’ll proudly cast my vote for any option on the GOP ballot other than You-Know-Who”
he has a lot of nerve complaining when all he is willing to do is add to the problem.
“Dont be so sure about McCain nominating prolife judges. He has already said he would not support an Alito.”
You’re right, we couldn’t be sure of McCain nominating pro-life Supreme Court justices - that is why he will definitely need our prayers for God to give him wisdom should he be elected President. Hopefully we would get another 1-2 pro-life justices.
However, we can be sure Hillary would NEVER nominate a pro-life Supreme Court justice. She would nominate justices more in the mold of Ruth Bader Ginsburg - and innumerable more innocent, unborn children would pay the price.
Love it!!!
btt
I will be praying for this Country too!
Good for you Jan. I wish more people could get that.
I didn’t hear all his show this morning, but it did seem he was leaning in that direction. I guess commiting suicide as a belief system is more preferable than losing one election.
McCain will implement at least 50% of Hillary’s agenda.
I expect Hitlery to accomplish these things in her 1st 100 days:
1. National Health Care
2. Solve Social Security by increasing tax rate to 90% on those EVIL “RICH” people making more the 75,000 dollars per year
3. Sign the Kyoto protocol (executive order, given the Senate voted 96-0 against)
4. Mandatory (executive order) turn in all SUV for bicycles
5. All private jet use restricted to politicians, ex-politicians and overpaid actors.
6. Fairness Doctrine. By Executive Order, Rush, Mark, Sean and Ann all deemed Enemies of the State.
——OH GOD, I think I’m going to be sick!
Dude, NRO is running the leading lick fest for Myth..
