Now that the Sunshine has set, two old friends come to an understanding.
McCain topper Rick Davis quietly negotiated the agreement.
HALPERINS TAKE: 10 things Giuliani could have done differently.
Giuliani, in Florida concession speech, talked about his effort in the past tense, but said nothing explicit about dropping out or The Deal.

Then he's done. McCain should win California easily, since Romney is seen here as an extremist religious conservative and McCain as a maverick reformer.
Same here, although I've been giving Romney the nudge since Thompson's drop out.
Should Thompson endorse McCain after all Thompson said about immigration, he'd lose all respect I have for the man. I'll either sit this out, write-in Duncan Hunter, or vote third-party should a viable candidate emerge (NOT Ron Paul). But who that could be is anyone's guess.
What a coincidence, that’s what the sunni and shia sites are saying. They really didn’t want him to win. (not snark, true)
After Gitmo is closed (on the first day via Mc), and the lovely folks are in our country (which of course CAIR, ISNA and our liberal lawyers will get off), do we pay for their return to countries, or can they just get a 24 hour visa and hang out here (like some of the hijackers, whom btw had plenty of licenses and expired visas)?
Nevermind. This has been a CFR election on both sides from the beginning... get ready to go global.
Hannity has the IQ of room temperature in celsius.
We’re looking at a President Obama come next year. Who would have ever thought such a thing.
Good. Let’s get our conservative military soldiers out of harm’s way. Let Hussian form a gentler more diversified army.
Romney can do it if he hammers McCain on amnesty and his non-epiphany on amnesty. (vote for security but not fund security)
Maybe now he will send a bumper sticker like yours. He never sent any bumper sticker before...
No surpise here either, RINOs stick together like glue...
The most-Liberal candidate in the race endorses the second-most-liberal candidate: Surprise, surprise...
Those RINOS’ stick together, like sh*t to a blanket!!
We all ENDORSE him... What a happy day! :)
“He went on attack as a matter of defense. He should have come out swinging at the offset instead of waiting until he was attacked. It makes him look defensive.
Excuses arent going to cut it. If he wants to win this nomination, he better not wait until hes attacked.”
Isn’t your hindsight wonderful. I’m sure Mitt will appreciate your insightful analysis of where he went wrong.
Now that it looks like McCain has the GOP nomination all but sewn up, forgive me if I want to escape. I never thought the Republican party would cow-tow and nominate such a liberal. It makes me sick to my stomach to realize that it’s Hillary vs. McCain....... *Puke*
McCain-Giuliani? Yuck. I don’t want one of them, let alone two on the same ticket.
The media are enthusiastic about McCain because a McCain nomination would amount to the GOP's shooting itself in the foot. He tore up his conservative card with McCain-Kennedy: the conservative base will not turn out for him. Democrats, who are worried about the economy and vehemently opposed to the war, will not cross over to vote for a liberal hawk with no economic expertise. The independents who might turn to him, combined with the fraction of the Republican vote he can garner, will not form a majority in the general election. Given the expected high turnout, a circumstance which always favors Dems anyway, Hillary could coast to victory.
As you say, it looks rather bleak for the conservative movement. By the time Hillary's two terms are over, it will likely be impossible to elect a conservative.
Drive-bys are back to boosting Huckabee. See latest by CNN. UGGGH.
Huckabee puts enough of a crimp in Romney, which will cede the entire election to McCain, as Huckabee is a NO HOPE and GO BACK TO HOPE, PLEASE candidate.
Crist is a bigtime RINO.
It fits - Dual RINO ticket.
“IMO, John Keenes endorsement of Mitt Romney should count for more with REAL conservatives than Guilianis endorsement of McAmnesty.”
It should. but then He’s a conservative and they get no notice in the press.
Romney is a superb, genuine, accomplished and even-tempered human being. But then this “like” factor is a misnomer - I am not voting for my friend, I am voting for a president. Romney is the best candidate we have now for President.
RINO MCCAIN DOESNT FIT - VOTE FOR MITT - Another Conservative for Mitt!
