Now that the Sunshine has set, two old friends come to an understanding.

McCain topper Rick Davis quietly negotiated the agreement.

HALPERIN’S TAKE: 10 things Giuliani could have done differently.

Giuliani, in Florida concession speech, talked about his effort in the past tense, but said nothing explicit about dropping out — or The Deal.

I CANNOT vote for McQueeg. I’ll go third party or write in but the RNC will never see a drop of my money again.

I feel the same way. I would rather stay home than vote for McCain. He is crazy!

Well, I’m not voting for McCain. I don’t care who is running against him, period. If this is the best the Republican party has to offer I’m not interested.

oh boy.

What are the most important issues of our time. The War on Terrorism is NUMBER 1.

John McCain is on the right side of that issue. That is why I would vote for him in a general election.

A couple of days ago, Brit asked the panel why the other GOP candidates didn't like Mitt...

Charles Krauthammer answered, "Well, let's see, he's smart, he's handsome and he's rich."

He paused for just a moment and added, "Most of the rest have a hard time coming up with one of the three."

“The GOP establishment lurks again. They’re throwing all their weight behind McCain. The GOP wagon is going to come crashing down to Earth this November.”

Don’t they realize that independents won’t vote for McCain if Obama’s the nominee? They’ll vote for Obama. Given a chance to vote between one more in an endless string of moderate old white guys and a charismatic history-changing-wow-what-a-rockstar black candidate these folks will abandon McCain and choose the guy that makes history. McCain will lose.

If Hillary’s the nominee, on the other hand... The ball is still in play. Whether a McCain presidency could truly be judged a victory is a question in itself.

I guess we can finally tell it like it is. It’s 2008, the year Republicans raced to the bottom of the barrel.

Not surprising.

There's, "Not surprising," and then there's as predicted.

As a CFR member in good standing, Fred should get an Emmy.

He's got it in the bag IMO.

LOL. McCain will lose in a landslide. The NYT is sitting on an explosive story. The Rats are rejoicing tonight. The biggest problem for the rats will be trying to decide "what" material to use against McCain. McCain will be utterly destroyed by the MSM. McCain has a serious problem with his temper.

The MSM and Hillary will easily know exactly what to say, to have McCain explode in an irrational outburst. With all he has done to screw conservatives and our beloved Constitution, I will not be upset when he gets creamed. He is a vile, bitter, corrupt man.

Wrong, I suggest you do research. Go to Mark Levin's site or Michelles and research how he has worked to give terrorists legal rights, how he wants to bring them to the U.S., giving them rights they don't deserve. He has wrongly stated that waterboarding is torture.

McCain would be the wrong person to lead any war. His ego and temperament is very dangerous. Bush had the wisdom to defer many of the War decisions to the Military. I can picture McCain imposing his views upon the Joint Chiefs, instead of listening to them. Many are fooled to think McCain is some great Military tactician. My God, this man has been in Washington on a power lust trip. McCain's ego would likely compel him run a war in the manner of LBJ.

It will be funny to watch him squirm once the MSM turns against him.

I’m a Giuliani supporter, but I think I’ll be voting for Romney in the CA election next week to help stop McCain.

But, sheesh, what if it’s McCain?

It may well be time to seriously weigh the pros and cons of a President Obama, if that is the only way to keep Clinton and McCain out of office. To cast a vote for McCain... for the first time in my life, the party would be asking too much.

Romney is the limit of how far I can go in terms of holding my nose while voting. With Romney there is some plausible hope - even if it is a remote hope - that some things might go our way over the next 4-8 years. With McCain there is none - not a shred, not a glimmer.

Why even have a GOP, if all the party can do is give us another Democrat to choose from? If my ballot is McCain vs. Obama, I may just well roll the dice on generational turnover, hoping that he's not familiar enough with the levers of power to do any real, lasting damage.

A McCain vs. Clinton general election, on the other hand, would force the creation of a third party to represent the people the GOP doesn't want to represent. Maybe we can hire an illegal alien to do the job that our GOP leaders don't want to do.

If McCain was 10 to 15 years younger yes he could beat Hilary,
However if Obama wins the nomination no way could he win.

He is not a good bet. He looks old and hagard. If he was 10 to 15 years younger maybe. Only Reagan could get the blue collar
Dems to vote for him 2 times. Because he was a good conservative and he knew America was alot better than Jimmy Carter was saying. Ronald Reagan had a good message. I’m not sure what McCains message is. Oh yea you can’t have a tax cut till its paid for. I know he voted against Bush’s tax cut twice. Close the border and amnesty for all Illegals. except criminals.
