Finally, there is a conservative answer to MoveOn.org: RoeGone.org, as in Roe v. Wade GONE. Nice, huh? What's even nicer is the ad they're launching to expose Mitt Romney's record. Be looking for secular conservative pundits and compromising pro-lifers to jump the Romney ship soon. No kidding. I predict this thing will signal the end of the Romney campaign.
Unlike the other ads that have been done on Romney that primarily focus on his flip-flops on abortion, marriage, gun control, immigration, taxes, pornography etc., RoeGone.org's ad clearly delineates Romney's record as governor which is very appropriate since that's exactly what Gov. Romney said we should do. I was there at the debate last week when Romney responded to the flip-flop accusations with the words: "I can point to a very simple way to find out exactly where I stand, and that is look at my record as governor."
Let's do that, shall we?
As governor, Mitt Romney issued an executive order forcing justices of the peace to perform homosexual weddings, or resign. Then he ordered marriage licenses changed to read "party A" and "party B" instead of "husband" and "wife."
As governor, Romney appointed a board member of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association to the bench, and appointed more Democrat judges than Republicans.
As governor, Romney authored and signed a mandatory heath insurance plan backed by Ted Kennedy including taxpayer-funded abortion on demand.
As governor, Romney overruled his own health department and forced Catholic hospitals to distribute the morning after abortion pill.
Homosexual marriage?
Tax-funded abortions?
Catholic hospital morning after pills?
Homosexual activist judges?
"Look at my record as governor."

You can tell how much the media fear McCain by how they tried to write him off as practically dead and buried in the summer and how they are now hysterically trying to say he is a liar for pointing out how Romney wanted a timetable (secret timetable is still a timetable) to cut and run from Iraq.
I am no McCain fan but Flip-Flop Kerry from Massachusetts was totally unacceptable last time. Why should Flip-Flop Romney from Massachusetts be acceptable now? By now people should be aware enough not to support a candidate from Massachusetts because Flip-Flopping is their favored style of politics.
Dr. John Willke, A Founder Of The Pro-Life Movement Nationally & Internationally, Endorses Gov. Romney
Saturday, Oct 20, 2007
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONTACT: Kevin Madden (857) 288-6390Boston, MA Today, Dr. John Willke, a founder of the Pro Life Movement, endorsed Governor Mitt Romney and his campaign for our nation's highest office. Dr. Willke is a leading voice within the pro-life community and will be an important surrogate for Governor Romney's pro-life and pro-family agenda.
"Unlike other candidates who only speak to the importance of confronting the major social issues of the day, Governor Romney has a record of action in defending life. Every decision he made as Governor was on the side of life. I know he will be the strong pro-life President we need in the White House," said Dr. Willke. "Governor Romney is the only candidate who can lead our pro-life and pro-family conservative movement to victory in 2008."
Welcoming Dr. Willke's announcement, Governor Romney said, "I am proud to have the support of a man who has meant so much to the pro-life movement in our country. He knows how important it is to have someone in Washington who will actively promote pro-life policies. Policies that include more than appointing judges who will follow the law but also opposing taxpayer funded abortion and partial birth abortion. I look forward to working with Dr. Willke and welcome him to Romney for President."

Dr. Willke founded the pro-life movement nationally and internationally. He founded and served as president of the National Right to Life Committee. He founded and currently serves as President of the International Right to Life Federation. He endorsed Mitt Romney. He said the Romney's pro-life record as Governor is solid. I'm sticking with the expert, someone that I - as a pro-life activist - have known and respected for nearly 2 decades. I support pro-life, conservative Republican Mitt Romney.
I read that not as a failure of the GOP, but of the voters getting what they wanted-like 'democracy' voted for Hamas in Gaza.
Whether it's because the primaries have been infiltrated by "dem terrorists" as Pravius indicates, or because there just aren't really that many active conservative voters anymore...I can't tell.
I suspect it's more of the latter, and we really won't know until November.
People have been claiming “the end of the Romney campaign” every step of the way......and he’s still there.
Romney doesn’t win IA and it’s the end.
Romney doesn’t win NH and it’s the end.
Romney doesn’t win MI and it’s the end.
Romney doesn’t win SC and it’s the end.
Romney doesn’t win FL and it’s the end......
Exactly right.
You live up to your username, sir!
The anti-Romeny crowd and the MSM have been writing his obituary since Iowa, and he keeps gaining momentum.
Don't fool yourself. Anyone willing to throw LIFE and the 2nd Amendment under the bus is no Conservative either.
Mere months ago, this entire forum was up in arms because Giuliani was the front runner. Now it seems, most are willing to vote for his social twin.
Romney's only possible value is centered around the economy (though I would argue that is not true either). His support is all about the money.
Those who would support him would trade the lives of children and their own defense for filthy lucre.
Shameful.
RoeGone? Wonder where the money is coming from?
You post illustrates perfectly that we ALL can’t have everything. We can pick our “pet” issue and hope for the best, but other areas may suffer.
My hope is that in areas where our candidate may be lacking, he can be influenced by the people to do the right thing. We sure had a lot of influence on the border issue when it came up last year; I just hope we can do that again.
You’re absolutely correct. A *politician’s* job is to do what the majority wants. Bill Clinton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, etc... comes to mind.
A *leader’s* job is to do what is right. And then educate the population as to *why* it is right. Ronald Reagan comes to mind. So does our current President, without the ability to articulate it unfortunately.
Romney I fear is in the Schwarzenegger/Clinton mold. McCain should be in an asylum, Huckabee is our John Edwards, and Rudy surrounds himself with con men.
Regardless if our next President has an (R) or a (D) next to their name we’re headed for the same socialist state. In some ways having a (D) president will ensure some vocal opposition by the Republicans due to partisanship. I didn’t see much opposition to the President’s Medicare expansion by Republicans after all.
If that were Hillary expanding Medicare, the fight would have been on.
As detestable as some of his social politics are to me.... I would rather have him at the helm of the country than a snake oil salesman (the Huckster), a Lying backstabbing RINO(McCain), a cowardly socialist (Paul), a one trick pony (Rudy), or a Commy pig(Democrat). Of all the evils we must choose from he is the least objectionable.....
As to www.RoeGone.org - it doesn't exist. I get .....
No Server Found
And I'd like to see where the money for this 'new' 527 is coming from and whose running it. But since it doesn't exist guess I'll never know. But -- George Soros anyone?? He'd love to see nutzo McInsane as the GOP candidate and even POTUS.
Plus this is from World Nut Daily. They're almost a reliable as DEBKA.
Indeed.
You know what I like best about Romney, in all honesty? It’s that the mainstream media and Democrats are obviously doing everything they can to make sure one of the other guys is our candidate.
Some of them are not dirt...some are out and out lies. Like the one regarding Romney somehow supporting the same sex marriage actions of the Mass Supreme Court, which he had not control over. In fact, Romney fought the same sex mandates from those justices and got the legislature to approve a measure for the ballot to overturn it, and then sued the legislature when it waffled. As to the executive order mentioned...I believe that is an invention. Please cite the exact number and its verbage. The author of this article on WorldNetDaily will not point any of that out...which in turn taints the entire article IMHO.
LOL!
Can you git 'im on the ballot???
You may just be the first person I’ve met to describe Paul as a socialist.
Anyone who is pro-life (on record saying he’s never seen a case where abortion was necessary), pro-1st amendment, impeccably pro-2nd amendment, small government (anti Department of Education, anti-IRS), pro-states rights, etc... is what passes for a socialist these days?
His big Sin to Conservatives is his stance on foreign policy. I don’t agree with him completely in that regard, but he’s no socialist unlike all the other GOP candidates.
