Finally, there is a conservative answer to MoveOn.org: RoeGone.org, as in Roe v. Wade – GONE. Nice, huh? What's even nicer is the ad they're launching to expose Mitt Romney's record. Be looking for secular conservative pundits and compromising pro-lifers to jump the Romney ship soon. No kidding. I predict this thing will signal the end of the Romney campaign.
Unlike the other ads that have been done on Romney that primarily focus on his flip-flops on abortion, marriage, gun control, immigration, taxes, pornography etc., RoeGone.org's ad clearly delineates Romney's record as governor – which is very appropriate since that's exactly what Gov. Romney said we should do. I was there at the debate last week when Romney responded to the flip-flop accusations with the words: "I can point to a very simple way to find out exactly where I stand, and that is look at my record as governor."
Let's do that, shall we?
As governor, Mitt Romney issued an executive order forcing justices of the peace to perform homosexual weddings, or resign. Then he ordered marriage licenses changed to read "party A" and "party B" – instead of "husband" and "wife."
As governor, Romney appointed a board member of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association to the bench, and appointed more Democrat judges than Republicans.
As governor, Romney authored and signed a mandatory heath insurance plan backed by Ted Kennedy – including taxpayer-funded abortion on demand.
As governor, Romney overruled his own health department and forced Catholic hospitals to distribute the morning after abortion pill.
Homosexual marriage?
Tax-funded abortions?
Catholic hospital morning after pills?
Homosexual activist judges?

I know that quotes and actions by him can be pulled where he took positions both of us are vehemently opposed to. but he has admitted that he was wrong on those positions and is now saying something different...and his campaign is based upon that change. I will support him as my 3rd choice against the others in the field, both GOP and DNC. I believe he will be the one we buy the most time with, the one who can best prevent either Hillary or Obama, and one who may just remain true to his new found statements.
It's disgusting and bad that we have been put into such a position...but given that position, given the current candidates, given my own research and the views of people I personally know and trust, particularly in MA...I have decided to support Romney over the others...McCain, Huckabee, or Guliani.
Others feel differently and (many for the same reasons I espouse) will reluctantly support one of the others as their 2nd, or 3rd choice. That's their perogative. I have voiced mine.
Tancredo endorsed Romney mostly because of Romney’s record on illegal immigration. If you care about that issue, then I hope you will vote Romney too.
If moveon.org is against Romney and for McCain then that makes it absolutely clear that we need to nominate Romney.
Romney catches illegals working for a contractor on his property and warns the contractor instead of simply calling proper authorities not once but twice.
BTW I don’t care who Tancredo endorsed, he’s a good man but not an idol.
BAH! it is simpler to see than it is to say- The two biggest binding agents in our party and in Conservatism are the sanctity of life and the 2nd amendment. When we have reached such a level of moral turpitude that these, even these are "on the table", then we are all but defunct. Damnation is waiting in the wings. That it is even a consideration in the minds of anyone is utterly despicable.
Of those left in the race, my view is Romney is the best stop gap, will buy us the most time, will have the best chance of preventing Hillary or Obama
Romney hasn't a chance in hell of winning, and everyone must know it is true. What Republican has ever won without the support of the Christian (Pro-Life) and the 2nd Amendment factions?
The "bait and switch" in this campaign has always been a matter of distraction. Distract attention away from the most qualified and deprive them of air. The most qualified are being removed by attrition, and in the exact order of their qualification: First Tancredo and Hunter, the most capable by anyones standard, then Thompson... All removed by deprivation and distraction.
To see who is next most qualified, one need only calculate who is next to fall, by the simple observation of who is being deprived of air.
What is remarkable, to say the least, is how easily the only means of changing that has been sullied. There can be no grassroots or grassroots revolt when the main engines of the grassroots fire have become compromised. Y'all are being played.
I do not believe Romney will renig on abortion or gun rights when he has straight up said we he has said in this campaign. But, if he does...he will still not go nearly as far as an Obama or Hillary.
The lesser evil argument. Very popular, but false all the same.

The paramount threat is liberal control of both sides of the isle. Our ideology loses when we can no longer offer opposition. If the champion of the Sanctity of Life and the 2nd Amendment lays down his sword, then who will be left to defend us at all?
Better to support the TRUTH, even on a long shot. That is why I am backing Keyes, as he is the only one on the board defending what we believe in. If not him, we lose regardless at this point. But in that case, with integrity, the high moral ground, sound character and determination, we will live to fight another day.
Perhaps you need a refresher course in basic civics. Since when can any court legislate or execute any law?
Anyway, the court did NOT overturn the marriage law. It did NOT order the Governor to do anything. What it did do is admit that NOTHING could change unless or until the legislature CHANGED THE LAW. Which they did NOT ever do.
Mitt Romney instituted gay marriage with no compulsion or legal or constitutional authority to do so.

We can therefore understand that for a son of God to grow to the likeness of his Father in heaven is in harmony with natural law. We see this law demonstrated every few years in our own experience. Sons born to mortal fathers grow up to be like their fathers in the flesh. This is the way it will be with spirit sons of God. They will grow up to be like their Father in heaven. Q. Oh, and BTW, Just in case one of your brother’s descendents should happen to run for a major public office or something, could you tell us your position on “theocracy?”
A. The kingdom of God is a theocracy. And as it is the only form of government which will redeem and save mankind, it is necessary that every soul should be rightly and thoroughly instructed in regard to its nature and general characteristics.

No argument here but---
We have to remember, WE-- not a bunch of men in a smoke filled room-- are the GOP. One of the biggest problems, IMO, is that New Hampshire, one of the least conservative states in the union, has too much influence determining "front runners" because they vote early.
It will be pretty much determined by the time we get to vote in TX and we are one of the most conservative states--NO statewide elected Democrats. (except our governor who is a Democrat in Republican clothing)
Everybody I know had planned to vote for Fred; are now voting for Romney.
Beware of groups that come into existance in the last 3 months just to attack one candidate.
Pro-life has been a serious battle for well over 30 years now. Anybody launching today doesn’t care about babies, they care about politics and attacking a candidate.
He's a moral equivalence pacifist, but he is the least socialist politician of our time. I'm down to Huckabee and Paul, and after today, I'll probably be down to Paul.

Who cares. The point is as governor of Mass., Romney vetoed in-state tuition for illegals and opposed allowing illegals driver’s licenses and other government benefits and has pushed for English only.
I think you should look at Romney’s record. Or would you rather end up with McCain?

I agree, he most probably would not defund the troops as long as everything was done his way and the anti-war nuts were unable to gin up more resistance. My concern is far more than that.

He has admitted to being wrong on a number of issues now that he is running for President. He reminds me of the jailhouse conversion who finally “sees the light.” He’s an ultra liberal now trying to sell himself as a conservative.

The Hill has kept count of the endorsements for each candidate from Congress since the primary started.
I find it interesting that Romney, a DC outsider has more endorsements from sitting congressmen than McCain does, where he’s spent the last how many years? Romney’s endorsers are more conservative, McCain’s more liberal, except Tom Coburn....I’ll never figure that one out.
