I thought this was touching and showed a very human side to Glenn Beck.

Watchout, the Huckabee supporters are coming to call him a devil worshipper.

I was wondering why Bck was so in the tank for Romney. Is he Mormon?
To: sevenbak
That was very nice. Thanks.

I believe he’s a fairly recent convert, not born into it, but yes, he’s LDS.

Yes, but he’s only recently gotten on the Mitt wagon. He used to be a Rudy fan.

Its news when Glenn Beck doesnt cry!I've been listening to Beck since he was our local guy in the afternoons, long before he went national. And you're right, even Glenn himself admits he's a crier, it doesn't take much for him to tear up, but I like that about him, shows he really cares about what he's talking about, IMHO.

I think the support for Romney is relatively recent. Initially, he was for Thompson and/or Guliani.
To: wita
I saw this last night. Beck’s tribute to Gordon Hinckley was very touching.
To: Aggie Mama
I think he was leaning toward Thompson. The only one he’s been really outspoken against is McCain.

Beck isn’t “so in the tank for Romney” until recently. He was a Rudy guy...then started moving to Fred just about the time Fred dropped. Even now think it’s more “anyone but McCain” then it is for Romney.
My folks are the same way. They were Rudy people and I started emailing them Fred articles and video...they came over to Fred two days before he dropped.

I don't know that he is so "in the tank" for Romney, as much as he is like so many of us, searching to see if there is anyone out there we can get behind (at least for conservatives). Glenn's been pretty open on where he was leaning for particular candidates as things went along, but I think as he dug into where they really have stood on issues, he's been rather disappointed, like a lot of us.
I think at this point, he has latched onto Romney as someone who he at least feels he can trust for some conservative issues. I know for sure he is against McCain. He even said that if it came down to Hillery vs. McCain, he's not sure he could even vote.
