The end of the Romney campaign (New ad exposing Massachusetts record)
World Net Daily ^ | January 29, 2008 | Janet L. Folger

Posted on 01/28/2008 11:34:14 PM PST by Kurt Evans

Finally, there is a conservative answer to MoveOn.org: RoeGone.org ... What's even nicer is the ad they're launching to expose Mitt Romney's record. Be looking for secular conservative pundits and compromising pro-lifers to jump the Romney ship soon...

Unlike the other ads that have been done on Romney that primarily focus on his flip-flops on abortion, marriage, gun control, immigration, taxes, pornography etc., RoeGone.org's ad clearly delineates Romney's record as governor – which is very appropriate since that's exactly what Gov. Romney said we should do... [Link to ad in post #2.]

Meanwhile, the word is getting out that Gov. Mike Huckabee is the only candidate who supports both a Human Life Amendment and a Marriage Protection Amendment.

* Unlike Mitt Romney whose health-care plan includes abortion on demand.

* And John McCain who thinks taxpayers should fund medical experiments on human embryos.

* And Rudy Giuliani who supports every single abortion for all nine months, just like Hillary Clinton, Barack Hussein Obama and John Edwards.

Huckabee stands for marriage while McCain and Giuliani (and Clinton, Obama and Edwards) oppose the Marriage Protection Amendment, and Romney opposed a Marriage Amendment to his state constitution...

Yesterday, National Right to Life Political Action Committee issued the following statement:

"National Right to Life is grateful for the strong pro-life record established by Mike Huckabee as governor of Arkansas, and recognizes that Governor Huckabee has taken the strongest pro-life position on all of the life issues of any of the remaining candidates for president"...

And Rep. Duncan Hunter's endorsement of Huckabee is helping to bring the defense and border conservatives on board:

"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter... "Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity." ...

Just believe your own lying eyes

In a 2002 questionnaire for NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts, Romney pledged to support efforts to increase access to emergency contraception (EC), yet vetoed an EC access bill three years later. O’Bryan called attention to the hypocrisy of Romney’s 2005 veto, which predated the FDA decision on Plan B ®, of measures that would have ensured timely access to EC for sexual assault survivors in the emergency room and for all women by allowing pharmacists to dispense EC directly. Ultimately, the Massachusetts legislature overrode the veto.

Yeah and remove the social conservative aspect of it and Huck doesnt look much different than John Edwards.

Ludicrously untrue. Take a look at the facts, not the Romney-donor backed 527 by "Club for Growth," etc.

“So what?”

So pro-family voters are rallying to support him.

“... do his supporters think he’s just going to grab a pen and write it into the Constitution?”

Most probably don’t.

They sure are an ANGRY bunch tonight. It reminds me of 2004, when they could have won it all but tore their own party up for not being liberal enough—it’s a Kucinich/Chomsky/Edwards lovefest over there!

You cant battle abortion from the White House. The only thing the president can do is appoint judges and even then they need to pass a Democrat-controlled Senate. So you can elect the most anti-Abortion person in the country and might not make any progress at all because of the check and balance of the government.

The battle needs to be fought by the states through ballot amendments and in the court system. Thats how the partial-birth abortion ban was eventually allowed to stand. Many states have passed amendments for parental notification. So progress is being made.

This is how you have to do it...one piece at a time. You try to ban abortion in one big swoop and your going to stir up a hornets nest.

Janet Folger is a firm supporter of Mike Huckabee. Research her name on the internet.

That just shows she is sensible.

Thanks for what you said and thank you for the link too.

I already voted for Fred Thompson the day before he got ourt of the race. But if I still had the chance to vote, I would vote for Romney now. I hope I get to vote for him in November. He is a good man and I glad I took the time to read more about him and the truth. He is the best one to vote for by far.

As far as McCain, Rudy, Huckabee, I truly can't stand any of them. I am also a Christian and there is NO way I would vote for Huckabee, he totally gives me the creeps.

Romney Shifts on Abortion Again
New Position Goes Beyond Reversing Roe v. Wade
By TEDDY DAVIS
Aug. 8, 2007 —

Throughout his bid for the GOP’s 2008 presidential nod, Mitt Romney has called for overturning Roe v. Wade so that states can go their own way on abortion rights. Rejecting a “one-size-fits all” approach to abortion, Romney has described his position as reflecting a “federalist approach.”

“My view is not to impose a single federal rule on the entire nation — a one-size-fits all approach — but instead allow states to make their own decisions in this regard,” Romney told the National Journal in its Feb. 9 issue.

It now appears, however, that if the former Massachusetts governor succeeds in getting Roe v. Wade overturned, he would ultimately like to see two federal measures whose cumulative effect would be to curtail the ability of states from granting their residents abortion rights.

Appearing Monday on “Good Morning America,” Romney was asked by ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos if he supports the Republican Party’s 2004 platform on abortion rights, which states, “We support a Human Life Amendment to the Constitution and we endorse legislation to make it clear that the 14th Amendment’s protections apply to unborn children.”

Romney replied, “You know, I do support the Republican platform, and I support that being part of the Republican platform and I’m pro-life.”

Journey to the Right Continues
Asked to reconcile the seeming discrepancy between Romney’s GMA interview and his National Journal interview, Romney spokesman Kevin Madden provided ABC News with a description of Romney’s position, which says that overturning Roe v. Wade and “putting the decision back in the states” is what Romney supports “in the meantime.”

His ultimate goal, however, appears to be for “the people and their elected representatives,” rather than unelected federal judges, to protect the “sanctity of life” through the federal mechanisms contained in the GOP’s 2004 abortion rights platform.

“Gov. Romney supports the Republican Party’s platform protecting the sanctity of life,” Madden told ABC News. “He believes that Roe v. Wade should be overturned so that the life issue can be returned to the Democratic process through the people and their elected representatives. Gov. Romney’s support for the Republican Party’s pro-life platform and overturning Roe v. Wade are complementary goals and beliefs.”

Romney, who has described his abortion position as “effectively pro-choice” as recently as 2005 was asked about his stance on the Republican Party’s 2004 abortion platform because one of his Republican rivals — Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan. — has accused Romney of being evasive on abortion.

"This will settle the matter you are an evil satanist. Satan must love you very much your soul will fry in hell unless you stop lying"

That was uncalled for, and it won't help you gain support for Romney.
