I’m from Texas and President Bush has kept this country safe. After 9/11, I watched every time he made an appearance. There were times I thought he would surely break down in tears. He will never forget that time and will attack our enemies when it is necessary. He is a great man.
A good book on Ike is “The Hidden-Hand Presidency” by Fred I. Greenstein.
I’m an open book. You can read my past posts if you wish.
Billions in wasteful spending will be included in next budget he sends to the President. Ahhh - talking about Congressional earmarks.....neither voluntary goal was set - he will veto bills this year that are full of earmarks!!!! Ha ha ha ha ha take that Hitlery...ooooohhhh and Federal Agencies will be directed by Executive Order to ignore any earmarks that go through without a vote from Congress!!!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!!
Greetings, fellow Texan!
SORRY - BILLIONS OF CUTS IN WASTEFUL SPENDING WILL BE INCLUDED IN NEXT BUDGET ......SORRY GETTTING LATE.
Brilliant!
We're on a mission from God!
I think you’re right. They seem to come in waves. I noticed last week a group of newbies were on and each was shrieking about either McCain, Romney or Huckabee. No real content, just shrieking. I think they were plants.
“You traded the Caddy for this piece of s***?!”
1. "And to open the doors of these schools to more children, I ask you to support a new $300 million program called Pell Grants for Kids."
2. "Let us fund new technologies that can generate coal power while capturing carbon emissions....Let us continue investing in advanced battery technology and renewable fuels to power the cars and trucks of the future. Let us create a new international clean technology fund, which will help developing nations like India and China make greater use of clean energy sources. "
3. "So I ask the Congress to double Federal support for critical basic research in the physical sciences and ensure America remains the most dynamic nation on earth."
4. "So we are expanding funding for this type of ethical medical research."
5. "We have also changed the way we deliver aid by launching the Millennium Challenge Account. This program strengthens democracy, transparency, and the rule of law in developing nations, and I ask you to fully fund this important initiative."
6. "And tonight, I ask the Congress to support an innovative proposal to provide food assistance by purchasing crops directly from farmers in the developing world, so we can build up local agriculture and help break the cycle of famine."
7. "And I call on you to double our initial commitment to fighting HIV/AIDS by approving an additional $30 billion over the next 5 years."
If that last one doesn't get us and tell us that he's a hypocritical liar and a FAKE CONSERVATIVE, then nothing will.
Have noticed that too - sheesh. I just ignore them.
Time to turn in. God bless President Bush. And all in Congress who continue to stand for conservative Republican principles.
In my 70+ years, I can't remember a time when the 'divide' has been more evident between the good and the bad.
I keep thinking of the Bible verse about when the wheat and the chaff will be separated -
LOL
I don’t know if I have ever been more proud of any President. I was too young to appreciate Reagan, and he never had to fight such evil by himself as President Bush has. We were united behind a common enemy, unlike this invisible army.
He seemed freed of any politics in this speech knowing that this was his final one and no need to chase any votes. He can see his rocking chair in TX.
Pray for W and Our Troops
LOL .. and for the MidWest .........
LOL!!!!
Back to your regularly scheduled SOTU Speech Thread.
Woo hoo!! Ninety-nine percent!! Less than $460 to go!! Every Ten, twenty, fifty contribution moves us closer to the goal!! Click that "Continue" button and let's Git 'er done!! Thank you all very much!!
How disconnected would we have felt WITHOUT THIS THREAD!
Let's do it!
I was passing by MSNBC earlier today and they were naming their quartet of Bush haters they had lined up for the State of the Union coverage. Chris Matthews, Keith Obermann, David Shuster and Norah O’Donnell. Leftists, all, too. Boggles the mind.
