Fox News' Special Report noted that "in recent days, Thompson's aides promoted him as a vice presidential pick." Romney was the first to weigh in." Asked if Thompson would be on his "shortlist," Romney answered, "Anybody who ran for office in this field is a very strong individual and should be considered as a VP nominee for me or somebody else. He is a terrific and highly capable guy."

I’d love to see Mitt say “Janice Rogers Brown” would be his first choice for SCOTUS.....that would be sweet.

>>>>it would irritate the hell out Teddy knowing his former opponent got the job he wanted but could never have after Chappaquiddick.

I hadn’t even thought about it, but you’re right and that’s a triple-plus bonus that might even energize the most jaded of moderate to conservative voters.

There is no way that I can summarize in words how utterly venal, disgusting, and malicious was Fat Boy’s response to the challenge posed by Mitt in 1994. It was kind of sad for Mitt because he was thrown off-balance by the guttersniping of Fat Boy, but at least he finished it with his integrity intact.

Those many years against the Kennedys and the Bulgers and the despicable Massachusetts Assembly have left him with at least one thing that might prove valuable in Washington: there is no doubt that Mitt has been tried and tested in the most corrupt and venal cesspool of Democrat “values” that can be found in America.

Unlike GWB, Mitt shoud have very little trouble taking on the Reids, Pelosis, and even Specters in Congress.

>>>>>No, this is no liberal.

LOL

A while back Romney was supporting McCain's comprehensive immigration reform package that included amnesty. In 1994 Romney was trying to run to the left of Fat Ted Kennedy on the abortion issue. He says he had an epiphany in 2005 and now calls himself pro-life. His continued support for the federal assault weapons ban is an outrage. When he said he was a lifetime hunter and supported the NRA his entire life, that was BS. He joined the NRA in 2006! And lets not forget his advancing gay rights while leading a liberal state that has elected Ted Kenndy and John Kerry, election cycle afetr election cycle, decade after decade.

Romney's only real accomplishment as Governor of Massachusetts was to propose the first ever statewide health care program in America. Romney wants the federal government to take over 1/7th of the US economy by shoving a version of his RomneyCare down the throats of the American people. Mandates, subsidies and regulations aren't what the US health care system needs. That is the first step on the road to socialized medicine.

Romney has a lousy track record on most issues. People who have chosen to blindly follow him are engaging in a cult following.

I’ll only deal with your first two BLATANT LIES.

On McCrazy-Kennedy Amnesty, the record shows that his support ranged from nonexistent (March, 2007) to (earlier, in 2005) lukewarm.

Romney’s words grow hard on immigration
By Scott Helman, Globe Staff | March 16, 2007
PHOENIX — When Mitt Romney swooped into the heart of John McCain country this week, he brought a pointed message on illegal immigration: McCain’s approach is the wrong one.

[snip]

....Romney took strong action against illegal immigration as Massachusetts governor by vetoing a measure to grant in-state tuition rates to children of undocumented immigrants, opposing proposals to give driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, and authorizing National Guard troops to assist with border patrol.

Last year, shortly after the Globe reported that some state contractors relied heavily on illegal workers, Romney sought federal permission to deputize state troopers to detain illegal immigrants they encountered on the job.

On your ridiculous charge about abortion, I happened to be a Mass. resident and voter in 1994, and in no way shape or form was he “to the left of Kennedy.” At best his position was muddy and ambiguous, and it was fairly obvious he was trying find an acceptable position between that of his Mormon background and the insane leftist temperament of Massachusetts. I knew it then and I know it now.

You are simply full of it, and spreading easily debunked lies.

So far, you haven't dealt with jacksquat! Two more edxamples of Mitt's anti-conservatism.

I still believe Fred will be the nominee coming out of a brokered convention.

Yep, Fred was everyone's 'second' choice.

Did you even bother to read the Globe article I included? It completely refutes your preposterous LIE that he supported “immigration reform” in 2007, 2006, or even 2005.

And you supplied nothing - nada, zip, zero - to prove that he was “to the left of Kennedy” on abortion in 1994.

Because he wasn’t.

The only thing preposterous are your ridiculous replies and your absurd contention that Romney is a conservative.

Romney’s words and actions speak for themselves.

Only Giuliani is more liberal than Willard the Myth.

>>>>>>Romney’s words and actions speak for themselves.

Then address them, starting with the Globe article above, and stop addressing me.

You - a Romney detractor - assert that he supported CIR. The Globe - also a notorious Romney detractor - provides quotes and actual reporting that he DOES NOT and hasn’t suppported CIR.

So who’s lying? You? Or the Globe?

Thats right, I show no bias when it comes to any liberal. Whether they be Republican or Democrat, they're all open targets.

Btw, the Globe article you posted a link to, happens to mention the unprincipled attributes of Myth Romney. The man is a cameleon. First supporting McCain's comprehensive immigration reform and then, after seeing he was on the wrong side of the issue, backing away from that support. Pathetic!

It's obvious you two don't like it here on this forum.

It's obvious you both despise Republican conservatives.

It's obvious you're either master baiters or Ron Paul trolls.

Neither of you display any reasons for being here other than to throw stones at this forum, its Romney supporters and the Republicn conservatives here "who just let go of the reigns".

Shirley there must be another web site somewhere that suits your anti-social tastes and agendas.

Maybe "my space.com"?

I once thought this a real possiblity, but it’s looking increasingly unlikely. We’re down to 2 candidates now, and over 90% of the delegates are left to be chosen. Someone is very very likely to get a majority, or a very large plurality close to it.

It's obvious you both despise Republican conservatives.

Talk about out-of-touch!! So, the GOP throws a bunch of half-baked rino's up for republicans to vote for and you think we depise conservative? You're definately why this party needs an overhaul.

Name one "conservative" as a republican I can vote for who has a chance of winning the nomination?
