FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y.; former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Gen. David Petraeus; Paulson; former Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass.; Huckabee.
As in...this upcoming week- or February..
Aah yes .. he’s a genius and legend ... in his
own pathetic mind.
Rod, I’m with you.
I compare it to a few years ago. You had all these people trumping up “health care crisis!” “40+ million uninsured Americans!” “health costs skyrocketing!”
Government’s plan is to expand the Medicare program to prescription drugs.
The only one I know of that has proposed something different is the now departed Hunter. He proposed opening up the state borders. A lot of these insurance companies are insulated by state borders from competition. The theory is that with more competition, prices will drop. That’s how you work within the laws of the free enterprise system to create more favorable results.
Now, personally, I think the problem is that demand is artifically high because of having someone else (either government or an insurance company) to pay for your health care and so people just go out and get whatever they want (nearly half of all Americans are on prescription drugs— is that really necessary??), thus driving demand too high. (Gasoline has a similar problem.)
before the Feb super.......
If they push the race thing too much, they are going to alienate blacks. Moe importantly, just because Obama loses a vote doesnt mean that Hillary will gain it.
It is my belief that most guys who wont vote for Obama due to race will also not vote for Clinton because she is female. Those voters will go to Edwards (and there was some indication of this in the South Carolina returns).
And those same voters wouldn't vote for a Mormon if it's Mitt vs. either Obama or Hillary, so they'd stay home. But if it's McCain vs. either one of them they can probably see their way clear to vote for him, so long as the immigration issue is sufficiently suppressed by the MSM. I think Hillary or Obama would still trounce McCain, but the demographic you're talking about would vote for him.
I think Romney has the best chance against either Obama or Hillary in the general.
I don't know about the establishment, but IIRC the most recent SurveyUSA poll shows McCain with 60% of the Hispanic vote.
The congresscritters are McCain, correct?
Don't know, but I assume that info would be on his website.
Ted Kennedy is endorsing Obama, per CNN.
The fight for the dem party is well underway.
TED KENNEDY just endorsed Obama.
Poor Hillary. Nobody in the Senate likes her!
It would be funny if it weren’t so true!
Right now both Hillary and Obama lead Romney by double digits in head to head polling. Obama trounces him by almost 20 points.
McCain is competitive with both of them.
It has been this way for the past year. Romney plays very poorly outside the GOP. You can't win if the independents don't like you.
You must be watching CNN, too.
Did you hear the ad for the State of the Union? The one that says “President Clinton’s State of the Union address....”?
Kind of like driving on an interstate and discovering that it goes through the gang infested area. You really don't want to go that way but you have to get home.
LOL. Is that supposed to hurt Hillary?
You’re kidding, did he really? Link?
That sounds like what used to be refered to as ‘walking around money’.
You said it best.
We mustn’t let our dislike of Hillary and our preoccupation with the Clintons to obscure the danger that is Obama. He is gaining support among the old guard democrats and is bringing in the young as well. I fear he will be our worst nightmare.
I do however feel good about Mr. Romney’s chances of success in the general - if pubbies will only come to their senses on McCain. We don’t need another Clinton v Dole, part deux.
get this my source said the media mouthpieces are in meetings, conference calls et al all day planning
“the culling of the Crimetons”.................
I have little to no confidence in those polls. A lot of it is name recognition and alot of it is the pollsters wanting to shape opinion, not just reflect it. If we can make Mitt the nominee, anyone that pays attention will see quite a contrast between him and Hillary!, who I still think is going to pull this off. He has a brilliant mind. He actually knows stuff. She is a terrible campaigner because she really isn't all that smart.
He is a genuinely decent human being. We all know what she is.
He is vigorous and good looking and so is his entire family. With Hillary we have her, Bill, Chelsea, Hugh and Tony Rodham and Roger Clinton.
