WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. Senator John McCain said that, if elected, he would do what other presidents had tried but failed to do: cut government spending sharply enough to reduce the budget deficit while lowering taxes at the same time.
In an interview outlining his economic approach, Mr. McCain emphasized his experience working on economic matters in Congress and laid out an unorthodox version of conservatism. After initially opposing President Bushs tax cuts, he has become a supporter of making them permanent and of pursuing additional tax reductions, saying they are the best way to encourage economic growth.

...called "liberalism". :P
Well, I’m certainly ready to vote for McCain now.
...Yes, that’s sarcasm of the most extreme kind.
I believe I heard him say that he had Pete Petersen and Warren Rudman (Graham- Rudman -Hollings)from the Concord Group as Economic advisors at the debate(?). Did not see them on this list. Did he dump these tax and spend RINOS/LIBs for the time being ? FWIW Rudman was the sponsor of Souter to the Supreme Court during Bush I’s term.
Apparently the Grey Lady only knows economists of the Keynesian variety -- notice the lack of the qualifying word "some" or "many" before "economists". My guess is, is that some of these Keynesians are so infatuated with the influences of the multiplier effect that they have no need to remember the equally real influences of dead-weight losses and the crowding out effect. Do Keynesians really believe in free lunches?
Nice read. Thanks for posting it.
McCain economic advisors are NOT keynesians! Read the list here:

Feldstein, Rogoff, Hassett, Taylor, Rosen...
What is your official title at McCain Headquarters? Speaking of that, I’ll take a Café Americano, two sugars, half & half with a cheese danish.
Now that your favourite candidate is no more on the list, who will you vote? Consider McCain, a proud conservative!
That was a total misread of my post by you. I am not attacking McCain's vision of spending cuts. I applaud spending cuts and think that McCain has shown a whole lot of spine on the campaign trail by saying things that cause moderate Republicans and all Democrats to feel uneasy (his not pandering to auto workers in Michigan was excellent). My post was going after the NYT and their obvious bias for more government.

Sorry, my friend. I’m a little tired...
Not a problem.
You do realize, however, that McCain is generally unpopular with FReepers so it's going to be a tough sell and you will likely be met with jeers and taunts, so read carefully so you do not draw even more scorn. The fact that you're new (or have a new account) is going to be even more problematic.
Also, you may wish to write a lot less identically to how Senator McCain actually speaks...say, you're not him, are you?
Warning: the following video of McCain is PAINFUL TO WATCH

What has McCain ever done to generate business or jobs in America?
Answer: NOTHING.
