NEWARK, N.J. - Investigators were trying to determine what caused three vessels to collide in Newark Bay Thursday
afternoon.
No injuries were reported, but the bay was closed indefinitely after the crash occurred just before 2 p.m., the Coast Guard said.
The ships involved were a 669-foot vessel that collided with two dredging vessels off Port Newark.
The collision left a light hydraulic sheen in the water, but it wasnt immediately clear what the substance was, officials said.
