Second break in at Romney headquarters

BOSTON - Republican Mitt Romney's presidential campaign headquarters was broken into for the second time in four months early Thursday, but campaign officials said there was no indication the alleged theft was politically motivated.

Daniel Bradley, 28, and Michael Sauer, 30, both of Cambridge, were scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on a charge of breaking and entering at night with the intent to commit a felony. The pair were caught stealing computer equipment at the former Massachusetts' governor's Commercial Street headquarters, according to a police report.

In the September burglary, several laptop computers and a television were stolen. Boston police officer Eddy Chrispin said there's no indication the two breaks were related.

Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom said the campaign "was grateful to the Boston police for their rapid response."

"There is no indication this was politically motivated," he said.

According to a police report, a guard monitoring security cameras at Romney's headquarters spotted the two men taking computers.

When police arrived about 1 a.m., they stopped Bradley and Sauer as they attempted to leave in a car. They searched the car, and found a computer box in the back seat as well as open bottles of beer. They also found crowbars and pry marks on the windows at the rear and side of Romney's building, according to the report.

Police said Bradley had six outstanding warrants, including breaking and entering and receiving stolen property.

“found a computer box in the back seat as well as open bottles of beer.”

Terrible reporting.

What kind of beer was it?

Why bother with your unproven assertions. Prove your charges first.

"There is no indication this was ___________ motivated," he said.

Fill in the blank: 1) politically, 2) terrorism, 3) racially, 4) sexually, 5) other.

This is getting to be such an often-used line that it now comes preprinted on "journalists" note pads to save time in their "reporting." All they need do is fill in the appropriate number.

At last! We get to the heart of the matter, and intelligent questions begin to be asked!

Romney has proven himself the king of slime in this campaign, so the starting point will be to wait and make sure his robots aren’t breaking into his own headquarters to generate sympathy.

You spin sordid accusations out of thin air, then call Romney the king of slime.

Shows how tough it is to hit Romney, when the Romnophobes are reduced to accusations based on wild imaginings.

Romnophobes

I don't fear a liberal politician who will be forgotten in a few years. Quick, name Dukakis's running mate. Same politics, and same future.

You do realize that the lie about Fred dropping out and endorsing McCain was from a McCain supporter at the politico (Michael , can't remmebr his last name). It was attributed to Romney by the RDS'ers here on FR but the truth eventually came out. Fred didn't finger Romney when aksed by the media. He knew it wasn't him.

Fred did blame McCain for the pre-Iowa drop out rumors.

>>Come up with an answer to post 18 if you can

Done, see post 28. You are making assertions beyond what Fred did. Fred fingered McCain not Romney in Iowa. And a McCain supporter at the politico was behind the latest bruhahaha about Thompson dropping out and endorsing McCain.

Why are you blaming Romney for McCain's slimy campaign? Your'e not a McCain supporter are you?

MrEdd, You seem bitter.

I hope that whoever wins the Republican nomination gets the support of conservatives.I fear many will not vote in the general election if their favorite doesn’t win the nomination. Emotions can get the best of us. I fear for the countries future should either Clinton or Obama win the presidency. While McCain is not my first, second, or third choice, I could easily vote for him.

I hope McCain didn’t know ahead of time that his supporter at Politico was going to lie about Thompson’s intentions to press on with his campaign. The two men are supposed to be personal friends. I’m not going to hold the underhanded tactic of a supporter against McCain.

I don’t need a “favorite”. This is in no way about personalities. I don’t require charisma, or oratory masterpieces. I don’t require name recognition.

I do however require a conservative. The evidence of their past actions in office disqualifies the four front runners, Rudy and Mitt foremost. Those two I have been preaching against for their left wing activities for over a decade now, Long before either of them was running for the presidency.

McStain isn’t much better, and The huckster is a snake oil salesman turned TV preacher. Reach yourhand out to your TV Set and give me your money.

Having a conservative voice in government requires abandoning a party that abandons conservatism.

If Hillary Clinton gets the white house it will be the second coming of Carter. I expect double digit inflation and unemployment at the same time. I could live with that.

I have faith in the American people that the fear mongered dictatorship would be averted because the left isn’t strong enough to risk armed insurrection yet. So that would still to me be a far preferable state of events than if conservative values were something the RNC need no longer heed.

I spent much of my adult life in the military. I don’t have any great need of creature comforts. The Rockefeller wing of the Republican party has nothing that interests me. The economy is a distant fourth priority, after moral issues, freedom, and defense. After loss of morality and freedom go so far, there’s nothing left worth defending. Time to start over.

Semper fidelis

But they emphatically will refuse to vote for, or even demand the resignation of, any candidate or sitting elected official who orders such things, seeking political advantage.

MrEdd, Though you seem very unhappy you thoughts and the thoughts of like minded “conservatives” must bring joy and comfort to all left wingers. If the Republicans loose the White House, it will be at the feet of folks like yourself. You can congratulate yourself all you want on being a true conservative. I guess you think your being noble and way above most Republicans in integrity and clear thinking. That’s vanity and self delusion. The Left has it’s MrEdds as well. They bolt their Democrat party because it’s not sufficiently left leaning for their taste and join up with the Greens or Peace and Freedom or many other wacko parties. I love it when that happens. We have a better chance when left wingers bolt the Democrat party. I wish it only happened on the left. Sadly we Republicans have our short sighted but very proud and self assured members as well.
