To paraphrase Patton, I might rather have Hellary in front of me than McCaine behind me. He’s screwed us every time he’s had the chance. He hates us. This is The McCaine Mutiny, and my top priority right now is to stop him.

Cheney’s nomination and election would be a validation of the success of the GW Bush administration and recognition of what a Great President he is.

No. Two reasons.

One, Cheney's health wouldn't permit it. The campaign would kill him.

Two, Cheney's an insider not a public man. Put him in the Oval Office, and he'd end up being the next Martin Van Buren.

Rush has always waited until candidates created their own “traction”. Does not feel it’s his job to be “King maker”.

It is something that has always frustrated me but,hey its his show.

I still hope that Dick Cheney comes riding into the convention on a white horse. LOL

“Rush Limbaugh: May Not Support GOP Nominee”

Obama Rodham Clinton is loving it.

Not having read all of the comments on this thread as yet, I nevertheless feel compelled to note that I was a Democrat until the Democrat Party left me.

And I am not in such bad company since Ronald Reagan made the same observation.

I now feel very lonely as I look at the Republican Party.

It is like standing at the station looking at a train and not feeling like getting on, as it is most assuredly heading for a wreck.

As a Floridian, my visit to the polls will be to vote on the property tax ammendment.

Looking at the candidates left in the race is like being in the grocery store and wondering whether to buy the rancid hamburger, spoiled pork or odd-colored chicken.

Ditto ........Use a No 2 Pencil in November and write in Fred or Hunter. If we can’t keep em in the race will dollars we can with lead this fall.

The lesser of two evils BS is just that.....time to take a stand now. GOP and their liberal infestation has received fair notice from the conservative base. They support these fake republicans like Twit, Huck and McCaniac then they choose too lose.

MSM will never force me to support their approved and sanctioned candidate off their list they want me too use.

Just my opinion of course.....to be repeated often here and elsewhere.......:o)

Stay safe !

Would you settle for Colin Powell and Condi Rice?

Not sure I'd like Powell at the top of a ticket, but God, it sure would screw the 'Rats.

"Question for you regarding your statement: are you more interested in the long-term good of the country, or the preservation of moderate Republican power?"

I do not believe for a second that having Hillary as President will have a "long-term" positive affect on the Country. I believe that the Democrats will make such socialist dramatic choices to the Supreme Court, the Country will be permanently damaged. Masses of Republican voters tried to "punish" the party in 2006, and we have Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid running congress now. This has not motivated Republican Conservatives.

"And when has the Republican Party been more dejected and negative about their future than they are right now after seven years of a “moderate” Republican in the White House?"

This did not motivate any Conservative leaders to step forward and run. The couple of men that were Conservatives were the first to drop from the race because they were trailing in the numbers. Seven years of having a moderate as POTUS did not propel them to the top.

If you are optimistic enough to believe that having hillary as prez will ultimately be good for the Republican party, then I have to admire your positive disposition. I can't say I share it with you though.

“Support” and “Vote For” are two different things. Rush is right.
I have been saying the same thing. For Fred Thompson I would happily donate, knock on doors, stand in front of Huskie stadium with a Vote Fred sign, that sort of thing - but if it is one of the other guys the best they could hope for from me is for me to pull the lever for them in November, - a vote against Hillary or Obama.

Well, believe it. There are many here who simply cannot stomach McCain and see him as more Dem than some of the Dem candidates. IMO in many ways, to me and some others Obama makes much more sense than McCain and, frankly, I would almost vote for Beelzebub to keep the real devil from the White, AKA as Hillary. Hopefully, I won’t be confronted with this requirement as McCain will not be the nominee.

Any of the candidates left in the race will give citizenship to 12-40 million illegals currently here. Whoever in either party wins the election “may” complete the fence and actually do something about the border but he will legalize all who are here now. That will end Republican participation in government above the local level everywhere. The Republicans are just as determined to do this to us as are the Democrats. If a McCain or Giuliani gets elected or Romney and does magnificently against the Islamics, the Republicans will only have at most one more election after amnesty. Then it is Democrats as far as the eye can see. Republicans have been politically suicidal since they first got back control of the House in 94. They couldn’t handle Rule. There training had only suited them for Loyal Opposition. When they surprised themselves with Power they couldn’t handle it. They could only marvel at the riches and stuff as much of it into their pockets as possible-Toddlers in Candyland.

Well this is where you & I disagree...
For one, I rarely if ever listen to the guy...
of course, I don’t have time during the day to listen to any of these radio shows...
but like others have said, Rush could have invited Tancredo, Hunter and/or Thompson on his show and didn’t(correct me if I am wrong)
in fact, Rush rarely invites ANYONE on his show...
I do faintly remember him having Cheney on his show recently...
and to say that he won’t even vote for the GOP candidate is silly...what’s the alternative? Hitlery? and eight more years on socialism? come on, get serious!

Rush had a chance to support the convservative candidates and didn’t and now he’s whining...

“Wipe your nose and take your meds, Limbaugh and GET IN THE FIGHT!”

I am through nose holding. I am finished with it. I am not afraid to stay home for the first time in my life. I simply am done giving my vote to the RINOcrat Socialist Party. Done with it. If they cannot run someone I can actually agree with, then they are not my party. I agree if McScream is the one, the party is broken for good.

No matter who our candidate is, he has to go up against the clintons and stop them. We don't have anyone that ruthless or treacherous.

“Would you settle for Colin Powell and Condi Rice?”

nope...the only reason Cheney would be the candidate would be because of a brokered convention and the conservative & moderates would NEVER accept Powell or Rice.

Pretty fair summation.

I would add to that that the real honchos of the GOP inner club are all employers of blue-collar labor, and they believe passionately that anyone who volunteers to break wages and bid them down, is a better man than you! Hence their passion for breaking down the border.

They're like the merchants of Carthage, who went very, very far to avoid paying a tax in silver to support Hannibal in Italy against the Romans. They beat the tax and lost their country. I'm sure Harvard Business School would tell us that, given discounted cash flow net present values based on typical discount rates, the Carthaginian moneybags did the right thing.

People like that will be in short supply at the convention. We'll see the usual suspects -- a herd of RiNO's and club-Pubbies, antitax Rotarians and assorted McCainiacs.

Not people like us.

I'm wondering if "not support" a candidate is the same as "I won't vote for a Republican candidate."

Rush has always derided those who stayed home or who voted for a protest candidate.

I could see him declining to "support" (meaning: on his show) any candidate, but I can't see him not voting for the Republican nominee.

Wonder what he would think of this analysis? I thought it was helpful and bookmarked it from a while ago.
