Carl Cameron says it'll become offical sometime later this week.

Oh well, we're doomed. Let's hope it'll be minimal damage until 2012.

We could hijact a Romney thread and turn it into a religion thread.

Yea, we should have voted for Lester Maddox in 1976 — only he told the truth about Carter. Ford was too chicken to say much.

Had I had it to again, I would also have voted for Pat Buchanan in 2000 general election! It would have made me feel better after the last sorry eight years.

Or we could hijact a Huck thread and use it to start a baptist/mormon war.

How many baptists does it take to screw in a light bulb?
(are you kidding; The Baptist Bride IS the Light!)

How many mormons does it take to screw in a light bulb? (Only one, but he gets to use all his dozen wives.)

First you'll have to prove your point that he knowingly nominated liberals.

How about Judge Steven Abany in 2005, board member of the Gay and Lesbian Bar Association? This is the same guy who testified at the State House in 1999 advocating a bill to repeal the sodomy laws in Massachusetts. - Lawyers’ Weekly 2/14/2000

New release from Gov. Romney’s office follows:

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Executive Department
State House Boston, MA 02133

MITT ROMNEY
GOVERNOR

KERRY HEALEY
LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
May 4, 2005 CONTACT:

(617) 725-4025

ROMNEY NAMES STEPHEN ABANY TO WRENTHAM DISTRICT COURT

Governor Mitt Romney today nominated Stephen S. Abany of Boston for the position of Associate Justice of the Wrentham District Court.

Since 1979, Abany has worked as the Assistant Clerk-Magistrate of the Quincy District Court. Previously, he served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and a Law Clerk to The Honorable George N. Covett of the Brockton District Court.

Abany is a member of numerous legal organizations, including the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Norfolk County Bar Association, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association.

Abany earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston College in 1971, his master’s degree from University of Massachusetts in 1974 and his law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 1978.

Here is the original link to Romney's official press release of the above: http://www.mass.gov/?pageID=pressreleases&agId=Agov2&prModName=gov2press release&prFile=gov_pr_050504_abany_nomination.xml - Interestingly that link has now been taken down. Hmmmm.

Come now even you have to admit Romney could have chosen someone a bit more conservative.

“Governor Mitt Romney, who touts his conservative credentials to out-of-state Republicans, has passed over GOP lawyers for three-quarters of the 36 judicial vacancies he has faced, instead tapping registered Democrats or independents -- including two gay lawyers who have supported expanded same-sex rights, a Globe review of the nominations has found. Of the 36 people Romney named to be judges or clerk magistrates, 23 are either registered Democrats or unenrolled voters who have made multiple contributions to Democratic politicians or who voted in Democratic primaries, state and local records show. In all, he has nominated nine registered Republicans, 13 unenrolled voters, and 14 registered Democrats.” - Boston Globe 7/25/2005

If you don't think he 'knowingly' nominated liberals why don't you take this up with the Boston Globe, looks like they disagree with your assessment and they actually had to live under this guy.

But the American people don’t agree with us — they don’t see the HRC that we do. They are just common sheeple who like roses, whisky, and Oprah. Well, TR, I might go along with you had you said "some" of the American people --- because I think a whole lot of American people view her in much the same vein we do and I have also read and heard that "some" are steamed at Oprah for supporting Obama over the "woman." She is one polarizing female. We have a mess on our hands but I am too sad about Fred to worry today about tomorrow. GOOD to see ya, TR!

LOL — oh yeah — that was a fabulous quip by Obama and so true -— they’re running together and dammit, they’re skirting the 22nd Amendment and they know it.

GRRRR. I despise them.

Lets just hijack this thread.

I'll start with a Hillary Joke I found in my e-mail:

A Republican cowboy from Texas attends a social function where Hillary Clinton is attending, and trying to gather more support for her nomination.  Once she discovers the cowboy is a Republican, she starts to belittle him by talking in a southern drawl and single syllable words.

As she's doing that, she's swatting away some flies buzzing around her head. The cowboy says, "Y'all havin' some problem with them circle flies?"

She stops and snarls, "Well yes, if that's what they're called. But I've never heard of circle flies."

"Well ma'am," the cowboy replies, "circle flies hang around ranches. They're called circle flies because they're almost always found circling around the back end of a horse."

"Oh," Hillary replies as she goes back to rambling. But, a moment later she stops and bluntly asks, "Are you calling me a horse's ass?"

"No, ma'am," the cowboy replies, "I have too much respect for citizens of New York to call their senator a horse's ass."

"That's a good thing," she responds and begins rambling on once more.

After a long pause, the cowboy, in his best Texas drawl says, "Hard to fool them flies, though."

That is state law: the states determine who can vote in primaries, not always the parties. “Open primary” states like TX and SC let the person pick his party on primary day.

The problem too is that most in American have never heard of Duncan Hunter and still haven’t heard of him. They need familiar names to help them in the voting booth.

We could hijact a Romney thread and turn it into a religion thread.

That's been done.

Time for a Mormon Joke:

A Mormon was seated next to an Irishman on a flight from London. After the plane was airborne, drink orders were taken.

The Irishman asked for a whiskey, which was promptly brought and placed before him.

The flight attendant then asked the Mormon if he would like a drink.

He replied in disgust, "I'd rather be savagely raped by a dozen whores than let liquor touch my lips."

The Irishman then handed his drink back to the attendant and said, "Me, too, I didn't know we had a choice."
