Carl Cameron says it'll become offical sometime later this week.

Oh well, we're doomed. Let's hope it'll be minimal damage until 2012.

A candidate is more than just a check list of issues. He has to be able to sell them.

What good is his stance on issues if he can’t convince anyone?

What do you mean gloom isn't necessary? We have either a RINO or a Rat as our choice for president. Sounds pretty gloomy to me. Foolish optimism isn't necessary.

And if you ask me, I'd rather live with the kangaroos and crocodiles for four years than have Hillary as my president. Excuse me for not wanting to live in a communist utopia.

LOL

The night Clinton won in 1992, my 13 yo daughter wanted to move to New Zealand...

She said that America would not be a good place for young people and children to live in any more...

Now someone else needs to step up and take out that socialist Huckabee.

Huckabee isn't going anywhere.

It will come down to McCain and Romney.

“If most republicans are “good conservatives” why are Fred and Hunter now gone? The problem as I see it is that these days, most people who call themselves republicans aren’t very solid on conservatism.”

There is a lot more to winning a race than to being ‘right’ on the issues. Character, competence, leadership and other factors are judged ... and they are judged via many lenses, such as the MSM lens that might build up one candidate and tear down or ignore another. If Duncan couldn’t stand out in the debates and/or get support behind him some way, and didnt have enough money to get a message out, what do you expect? Fred has less of an excuse, as he had national name ID to match Rudy and McCain, but still blew it, mainly by having a disorganized campaign and having the MSM pretty much diss his whole approach to running. it’s what happens. You can whine or you can realize that goes with the territory and do something about it.

Just think of all the folks voting for McCain due to his military service. I mentioned Duncan Hunter to my wife and she says “Who?”

This primary has been quite the “ClusterHuck”.

I’m speechless - somehow I feel that I am being told that ‘conservatives’ don’t have any stroke in the political field anymore. So, where does that leave me? Am I supposed to ‘change’ my ideals and beliefs, and become like those whom I detest?

No way.

I’ll be writing in Hunter’s name...

More Americans will suffer from terrorist attacks if a Democrat wins.

More taxes will be sucked from your paycheck--if you're lucky to have one--if a Democrat wins.

More babies will die in the womb if a Democrat wins.

More of your health care decisions will be decided by a bureaucrat in Washington if a Democrat wins.

More of your nation's security will be turned over to the cabal of clans at the United Nations if a Democrat wins.

I hope you'll reconsider.

The biggest problem Hunter Duncan had was his own supporters.

That was his biggest problem? Typical petty response.

It is off of the thread topic and it would take pages for me to answer your questions, but I'll try to summarize. I am the granddaughter of legal Italian immigrants. This Country consists of immigrants, so no, I'm not against LEGAL immigration, but that isn't what is going on here. First, I think the large influx of people from the middle east, who have no desire to assimilate, but instead, demand their rights for their religion, is VERY dangerous to the Freedom we enjoy in this Country. (Look at the demise of Europe)

Secondly, I think that the people smuggled here from Mexico to satisfy cheap labor for big business, and to add a new poverty class for the Democrats, is also very unAmerican. They are the new "slaves" and it is indefensible.

I also think that instead of Mexico criticizing us, they should improve their own country and take care of their citizens, instead of expecting the U.S. to take on even more people that can't take care of themselves.

Your questions and points are great, but I don't ever see our government doing those things!

But I'm telling you as sincerely as I know how, that you do yourself and your fellow Fred supporters no service in behaving that way.
That's psychological projection if ever there was such a thing. The biggest problem Hunter Duncan had was his own supporters.

You are hoisted on your own petard, Petronski.

Even now, with Hunter out of the race, you can't help yourself, you are unable to resist the mockery and ridicule, referring to him as "Hunter Duncan", etc.

Your suggestion that Hunter's supporters were a 'problem' is ludicrous, absurd and based on nothing but your own bias against Hunter, and your own hurt feelings now that Fred has dropped out too.

You won't be able to admit that to yourself, not anytime soon I expect, but that IS the truth.

At some point Petronski, you need to accept that Fred's done, take some consolation in the fact that your boy lasted a few days longer than did Hunter, and move on with your life.

[Say pissant, you want to take a swing or two at this Petronski-Pinata' that just doesn't "get it"?]

we will see if you are right.

I do think Clinton may well pick Richardson ... hispanic + NM + smart/reliable VP (a Dem Dick Cheney) is a smart move.

“Romney-Thompson vs. Clinton-Richardson = 2 new Federalist/Strict Constructionist Supreme Court justices!”

I hope you are right about that.

The weather matches my mood too. Not cold, not hot, not raining, not sunny and I am totally sad and depressed about Fred. It is clammy damp and disgusting in Houston right now. I just made a big donation last week, I wonder if I could ask for it back?

Think of it this way, having to hear, see, deal with Shrillary, Bubba and Chelsea every day for 4 years!?

And that's the way we need to approach it. As bad as the current crop of RINOs are, the Dems are 100 times worse. Remember, they want to "take things away from you for the common good."

I believe I supported the right guy to be President. Sad for the country that it didn’t work out.

I’ll choose another candidate to vote for, but rarely do I find a guy that I just really support without hesitation, without reservation, without apology. Fred was that candidate. I was able to vote for him twice for Senate, and wish I could have voted for him two more times - once to be the nominee, once to be the President.

That's exactly backwards. I would have been proud to vote for Hunter, were it not for his supporters' behavior.
