Tennessee's GOP Chairwoman Says Don't Count Thompson Out
WDEF-TV ^ | January 21, 2008 | ReneƩ LaSalle

Fred Thompson is noticably absent from the campaign trail this week.

After finishing third in the South Carolina primary over the weekend... Many wonder if he may drop out of the race before Tennessee and Georgia vote.

But Tennessee Republican Party Chairwoman Robin Smith says his Carolina finish still gives Thompson prominence, and he shouldn't be ruled out just yet.

Smith says, "I think people are starting to ask the question, 'Is he a viable candidate?' I think that's the big question, and we'll have to wait for a couple more days I'm sure."

Smith says the deciding factor will likely come down to how much money the Thompson campaign can raise for a last minute push in Florida.

"ROFL. You guys, honestly are in serious denial. It's too bad that this is turning into a Paul-bashing thread, and the original poster just asked a simple question."

He was NOT asking a simple question, he was trying to rub Ron Paul's fundraising into our faces. No other candidate, not even Barack Obama, have the zealous followers that Rep. Paul has. I predict that Paul will go third party, not matter what he says now, but that he will hurt the dems as much or more than he does the GOP. I have no first-hand knowledge of a Soros-Paul connection, but it might make sense if you think about it.

That’s hilarious. All I see on the street corners and overpasses of D/FW are washed up tie dye-clad hippies with Ron Paul signs. Maybe y’all should move to Stephenville where the space ships have been recently sighted.

ool link. It says on the page

We need $248,846 to run the ad on the left while Fred campaigns relentlessly across Iowa.

Someone needs to tell Fred that Iowa is over.

If Huck drops out, Fred can and will get the votes he needs.

If that story (Huck BSing about his weight loss, may have had bariatric surgery instead) leaks out and has any credence to it, then all bets are off.

If Fred stays in, Huck’s goose is cooked.

Huckisn't going anywhere anyway. Fred is broke and broken hearted. Hollywood has to be a lot more fun.

He was NOT asking a simple question, he was trying to rub Ron Paul's fundraising into our faces

What rub? Has FDT raised $1.7 million in a single day or not? Where was his fundraising at? It's a legitimate question.

No other candidate, not even Barack Obama, have the zealous followers that Rep. Paul has.

Maybe because they don't have the message Paul has? Paul has tapped into a frustrated voting bloc that the two-party cartel has ignored for years. Not his fault that they came to him instead of the other candidates.

I predict that Paul will go third party, not matter what he says now, but that he will hurt the dems as much or more than he does the GOP.

Actually, he would devastate the GOP nominee, but keep believing that only liberals are supporting him. It's not true. Look at the primary results. Paul has placed no higher than 5th in all of the states besides Nevada. So leftists aren't crossing over in hordes to vote for him. It appears to me that he's being rejected by the GOP rank-and-filers, and you guys should be happy about this.

I have no first-hand knowledge of a Soros-Paul connection

There is no Soros connection. All of Paul's money comes from individuals across the country. Why can't you guys just acknowledge this instead of resorting to lib media tactics?

Hello,

That’s funny, I just saw the Red Truck, see link somewhere above, and added $50.00 to the total.

I’ll add $50.00 more tomorrow.

:)

That’s odd. I heard from Him just today, and He didn’t say that to me.

He told me to read the Book of Matthew.
