Hillary Clinton said that if she became president, the federal government would take a more active role in the economy, in an effort to address what she said were the excesses of the market and the Bush administration.
She told the New York Times she would put her emphasis on issues like inequality and the role of institutions like government, rather than market forces, in addressing them.
She said that economic excesses -- including executive-pay packages she characterized as often "offensive" and "wrong" and a tax code that had become "so far out of whack" in favoring the wealthy -- were holding down middle-class living standards.

It's called Soviet Socialism. Welcome to the USSSA (United Soviet Socialist States of America).
Your point is well-taken. Thanks.
But let me ask you some hard, HARD questions, and I challenge you to answer either yea or nay:
1. Would you cast a vote for McCain to stop Hillary?
2. Would you cast a vote for Romney to stop Hillary?
3. Would you cast a vote for Giuliani to stop Hillary?
4. Would you cast a vote for Huckabee to stop Hillary?
My answer, to all four: yes, I would.

Leftists tend to be "true-believers," which is why they can try reusing old, failed policies over and over again. The problem is never with the policy. It's always with the people who tried to implement them, or maybe some vast conspiracy that acted to oppose their Utopian policy enactments.

All because Republicans stayed home during the mid terms because their candidate wasn’t “conservative” enough.”
Exactly! And they didn’t learn their lesson, the same ones plan to stay home or vote third party in Nov 2008, to make sure Hillary gets elected and the Dems will control all branches of the US government. (What kind of judges do you think Hillary and Dem Senate will nominate and approve?!)
I am sure the “pure social conservatives” will be so happy that they helped to accomplish this.
Me, no.

Yes on all except Huckabee. In his case, I’d vote for a write-in candidate.
