Another opportunity lost for meaningful tax cuts for those of us that PAY taxes. Get a real CUT to taxes starting at the TOP and Corporate levels. The RICH are the ones that create jobs and influence the economy quickly. Giving everyone a check is just buying people, not a true help to the economy. Tax Cuts work EVERY TIME. And we have the highest Corporate rates in the world.

That $300 check covered most of the cost of a used Glock 23C with a new Jarvis barrel installed. My local FFL has quoted me $925 for the 5" S&W 460 revolver. I consider it a "precious metals" investment. The 4" S&W 686+ I purchased for $437 in 2000 sells for $960 today. Not the same increase as gold, but a lot more useful.

Giving all us little people 800 bucks, and further devaluing our money while you do it, doesn't seem like a very good solution to me.

Rebates are a gimmick. Besides, at least 1/3 is going back to the Feds anyway in your next tax return.

Now is the purrrfect time to propose another Tax Reduction Bill. Hell, even the libs might back this if it were sold as an economic stimulus package.

This is another weak attempt to tinker with the income tax code that is beyond reform by using a short term band aid approach.It doesn’t solve anything in the long run. It only make matters worse. We need a fundamental change by replacing the income tax with a consumption via The Fair Tax Act. Fair Tax ping!

That's right, so cut out income tax altogether along with welfare, social security, medicare, and medicaid.

No programs to fund means no need for the money. It's a win/win situation.

The rebate thing is almost a joke. By the time Congress passes and the we, the taxpayer, get a check it will be ,at the earliest, July. Well America needs that stimulus now not then. How about a Rebate against our taxes, say $1000 to $2000 Dollars Now. If your getting a refund, whatever your refund and $1000 for single and $2000 for married. If no refund apply the rebate to reducing your taxes.
That gets the money in the hands of people in weeks not 6 or months down the road.
Of course the Democrats would be the first to be against that plan and it makes too much sense.
