Confit is one of the oldest ways to preserve food, and is a specialty of southwestern France. The word comes from the French verb confire (to preserve), which in turn comes from the Latin word (conficere), meaning "to do, to produce, to make, to prepare." The French verb was first applied in medieval times to fruits cooked and preserved in sugar syrup or honey. Later, it came to describe various kinds of food that have been immersed in a substance for both flavor and preservation. Sealed and stored in a cool place, confit can last for several months, and can be reheated to extend its useful life.

There's a new Babbitt article in Human Events today that is equally an endorsement of Fred. It's called "Thompson Can Unify Republicans." Rush took a tiny on-air segment to read the salient parts of the article, really focusing on and ending with South Carolina needing to vote Fred tomorrow.

I hope someone gets that audio or video up online for all to see.

How anyone could want anyone but Fred for President is beyond me, when you read articles like that by him.

I so fear that Christians in SC, blinded by the shiny cross Huck is waving before their eyes, will do our country harm tomorrow. I don’t think Fred will continue unless he’s a close 2nd. I so would love to vote for him on Super Tuesday! I would consider it an HONOR to cast a vote for Thompson and help get him elected.
