DENVER (CBS4) ― President Bush heard a request to release a man in a Colorado prison during his visit to Saudi Arabia.
Homaidan Al-Turki is behind bars awaiting the outcome of an appeal. A court convicted him in 2006 of sexually assaulting and enslaving his Indonesian maid in his Aurora home.

No one’s asking you to understand anything (that might present its own set of problems). I am merely observing that you have already concluded that Bush will pardon this guy, and applied your conclusion to your pet issue. That, my friend, is a knee-jerk reaction.
I was asking for takers on a bet.
Well, it was just a woman after all. Why should a man be in prison when a filthy woman tempted him? /s
I got it. I also got a mental picture of an old man sitting on a stool shaking his cane in the air.
‘free him for OIL.’
As long as they deport him, I’m okay with that deal.
Colorado is a sovereign State. No head of another State can pardon one of its prisoners. So, unless the guy was convicted in a Federal Court, George Bush has no more power to pardom him that Fidel Castro does. He would have to ask the Governer of Colorado to do it.
The Gov of Colorado, Bill Ritter, would bend-over for the Saudis in a heartbeat if it meant getting his name in the paper and being seen as an international player. His only conflict would be in Bush asked him to.
Not true. The Presidential power to pardon is absolute.
Not just no.
Heck no!
(unless the Border Agents, are freed ... FIRST)
Mr. President: Deal or no deal?
“Under the Constitution, the President’s clemency power extends only to federal criminal offenses.”

No pardons for oil.
Way better than even money. He’s presidentially disgraceful on this issue.
Exactly, tell the the dirty pirates in filthy robes that they can have their turd back for 1 million barrels of oil. Plus we get to lop off his toes. Deal done. Geez thank God Im not in charge...
Thats what I thougt. Very curious to know the answer. It does seem that the pardons you hear about were for scumbags that were convicted in federal court...
“I was going to bet that this thread would be full of knee-jerk reactions such as yours,”
Says the FR King of Knee jerkers.....
Try pointing it out when I do it sometime. I won't hold my breath, though . . . you tend to run away when outclassed.
>>Saudi newspapers reported no less than the King Abdullah and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia were to bring up the case with President Bush as they met this week in Riyadh...
Arapahoe District Attorney Carol Chambers told CBS4 Al-Turki was convicted by a jury of citizens from Arapahoe County and does not believe he should be pardoned.
Critical facts tell the story. At least the reporter bothered to give it to us. <<
Wouldn’t that take to the governor? I’m not sure the President can pardon someone from a state law.
Yes...this creep for all the guys about to be beheaded for reading the Bible.
Meaning that, I demonstrated why I think my nominee deserves the honor . . . you haven't done squat.
