Charleston, SC-
Last night at the Citadel, the historic southern military school located here in Charleston, GOP presidential aspirant Mike Huckabee positioned himself in defense battle mode, warning the crowd of 400 supporters about the barrage of attacks from his enemy entities, like the Club for Growth, that are questioning his conservative credentials. Huckabee defended his record.
Folks, I dont know what you are going to hear, about that Im not a conservative, but when you cut taxes, and you increase the per capita income, you improved the schools, and you rebuild the roads, and you preserve the national resources, and you streamline government, your government grows at a rate that is half that of the average of all states, Huckabee said, his voice rising. Call it anything you want to, but anybody with an I.Q. above broccoli calls that conservative, rock-solid, kind of leadership.

Where oh where are the debate question writers when you need them AuntB?
Anyone that thinks the Constitution should be modified to include “Christian Values” or who thinks that somehow the Constitution allows Congress and the president to impose nation-wide smoking bans is not a Conservative. He sounds more like a populist to me, which is just as dangerous to our freedom as leftists are.
“Where oh where are the debate question writers when you need them AuntB?”
Indeed. The media isn’t going to ask questions that they don’t want us to know the answers to.
I had a feeling I would find you lurking about on this thread. :)
Only yourself to blame Huckster - we started getting this crazy idea after you did all that populist business bashing in Iowa, sounding darn near like an Edwards clone.
Hucklebee is the vegetable candidate. He Is a skull full of squash.
How many idiotic statements can one man make before he's toast? Voters, please pay attention.
How offensive.
Just because you’re Christian, Huck, doesn’t mean you’re conservative.
No one is denigrating Mr. Huckabee’s advances in Arkansas. I understand why taxes had to be raised and roads built. I think it is unfair to criticize him for what absolutely had to be done to bring Arkansas into the 20th century. I disagree with his bringing religion back into the realm of the politic. That was beyond the pale and better left unsaid. By the same token, I don’t think raising taxes was the route to go on people who were struggling to feed their families. Arkansas is a beautiful state. There was certainly no reason not to locate businesses there. I hear it’s a going “Jesse” now, and that’s commendable. I’m just not sure Mike is any better than the last guy from “Hope” as far as qualifications to govern are concerned. He’s light years better morally-speaking.
LOL...
Damn, he is an idiot...
Reasons to like broccoli: 1. It’s good for you. 2. It tastes good. 3. It doesn’t think Huckabee is a conservative.
I believe in the vegetable world, Huckabee’s strongest support is among eggplants.
U said, ‘More like ... anyone who THINKS you are a conservative has an IQ below that of a Broccoli’
= = =
THANK YOU FRIEND; YOU ARE ***SOOOOOOOO*** RIGHT !!!
The only real conservative running is Duncan Hunter. Huckabee is a distant third or second, with Fred Thompson, only because they’d be the least harmful remaining.
Only in Huck-a-World.
You don’t need much money to teach a kid how to read, write and do arithmetic - unless you are endorsed by the NEA and buy into all the socialist claptrap they decree necessary.
“According to the media...and we all know how they are so spot on”
This Rasmussen reporting poll results...not the media.
Yeah - how do you get all the ticks and other vermin out of the squirrel before it gets to the plate ?
