There are legitimate programs for bringing in guest workers that do not burden the American taxpayer or result in illegal aliens in the United States.
Here is but one of them: http://www.cosmorecruit.co.za/vsa.html
And here is an NPR story about it:

This is a workable plan already in progress. The “downside”?
The beneficiaries are not Hispanic, so there is no political benefit for the Democrats or the Rove Republicans, and there is no illegal profiteering by the Chamber of Commerce Republicans who want to exploit cheap, off-the-books illegal Hispanic labor.
Strange that no politicians, including Romney and Thompson, are talking about it.
Good post, good info. It goes straight to the issue of Huckabee's character. A man's pledge is as good as his word, which is only good as his character.
“A man’s pledge is as good as his word, which is only good as his character.”
That’s the way I see it as well.
Step 3. Pass federal laws, or amend the Constitution if need be, to deny citizenship status to babies born to mothers in this country illegally.
Huckabee opposes both of those steps.
McHuck, the lawdog: takin’ a bite out of US Immigration crime.
Why, it’s enough to make a crow blush.
When the TITLE of the thread is “Huck Gets Tough on Immigration”, I believe that Huck getting tough on immigration is going to be the topic of discussion.
If Neal wanted us to discuss HIS plan, he shouldn’t have put it in an article called “Huck gets tough”, because it falsely implies that the plan has some relationship to Huck’s positions, when in fact Huckabee has specifically denounced at least one major step in Neal’s plan, and has acted contrary to at least one other major step.
"It does appear to be the issue out here wherever we are," said Huckabee. "Nobody's asked about Iraq - doesn't ever come up. The first question out of the box, wherever I go - Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida, Texas it doesn't matter - is immigration. It's just red hot, and I don't fully understand it."

Comming from a man whose tax plan comes from a group that shares a building with the consulate of ecuador.
This smacks of a normalization is not Amensty suspicion.
Hard to take such a candidate’s “me too” campaign trail epiphany.
Huckabee needs to take lessons from Romney, changing of the mind needs to happen BEFORE you file, not after it becomes obvious people will not trust you on immigration.

Obviously you didn't read past the title, and maybe the first paragraph -- or you would have found out that THE MAIN THRUST OF THE ARTICLE was Neal's idea --NOT a commercial for or against HUCKABEE.
Right? Obviously you pick a candidate just like you read....with no thought! Thats what I posted about, that and his rating as a governor which sucks.
Oh? You want to get nasty, huh? OK, let's have at it.
You aren't the sharpest sword in the arsenal, being, as you are, dumb enough to jump to the conclusion that just because I post an article that mentions Huckabee -- ONE NOT WRITTEN BY ME, by the way -- that I am beating the drum for him.. That is one hell of a stupid way to make up your alleged mind about anything.
You have the same dim bulb attitude that Huck has.
What a laugh -- a totally burnt out bulb showing how very little light it can shed. HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Huck, like his supporters (who can’t even follow a thread and just insult) has no idea what is going on in this country.
A recent survey:

Well, Neal is only human, and subject to making mistakes, like assuming that the readers would be smart enough to read the article and figure out that its main thrust was his idea about how to solve the illegal immigration problem; not Huckabee.
Obviously, he was wrong -- it appears that it's more fun to chew the cud about a crooked politician than it is to discuss a relatively simple idea about the problem.
I'm sure glad I'm not a Huck supporter -- If I were, you'd really be getting you thong in a knot -- I I just don't think I could stand that.
By the way -- you are rather proficient yourself, with respect to just insulting folks, and having no idea what is going on in this country.
Everyone knows that the standard bearer for immigration is Duncan Hunter.
If Huckabee fizzles, his followers will be looking for another prolife evangelical to fill the void. Hunter fits that bill, no one else in the race is evangelical.
The GOP doesnt get it. They need to let this faction find a home. The amount of invective aimed at evangelicals is surprising, but then everyone wants their votes.
Huckabee has surged because he won a couple of debates and hes got evangelical support. If a quick rise can happen to the liberal pro-life evangelical Huckster, it can happen to the conservative pro-life evangelical Hunter.
Prolife evangelicals will be very comfortable in Hunters camp, since hes a prolife evangelical staunch conservative.
I know that there are illegals in Arkansas; aren’t they hired by Tyson, etc.? Man, how could he NOT know what a problem this is? All you have to do is take a look at life in the border states.
Middle class Americans here in SoCal are scrimping and saving to get their kids educated (difficult in the public schools, with the kids who do not speak English in the lower grades and the gangs in the upper grades) and give them the medical and dental care they need, while they see their own hard-earned taxes going to pay for everything for free for illegals.
It’s getting hard to “support your community” with charity when you hear that most of the funds then ALSO will go to illegal alien kids, the vast majority of the “poor.”
But I fear that Huckabee cares MORE for people who wouldn’t play by the rules than those who do, as evidenced by his pardon frenzy.
no.
