9 Students Suspended For Videos Making Fun Of School Videos Were Posted On YouTube
POSTED: 6:18 am EST January 16, 2008
GREEN, Ohio -- Nine Green High School boys in Summit County were suspended for 10 days.
They are accused of producing videos that made fun of staff and students, NewsChannel5 reported.
Administrators said the group then put them on YouTube. The videos have been removed from the Web site.
Principal Gary Geis said the videos poked fun at teachers and classmates.
The students' identities weren't released.
Who keeps the NE Ohio ping list these days?
so do high school kids not have a right to free speech?
Not sure who had the list E Rocc.. The state postings are about nil. Not sure if all are gone elsewhere, indifferent etc.
i hadn’t heard of this story. I wonder what right they have (the school) to do this. Obviously the school can make life very difficult for the young men along the way should they NOT voluntarily pull the material, and maybe that is what happened.
Thanks for the ping & I suspect we will see a lawsuit against the school system by one or maybe group of the parents.
E rocc was curious who has/does the ohio pings?
I am not sure myself.
This is the list I came up with off the top of my head
neocaveman; nomad; shyla; molly pitcher; dutchess; oneloyalamerican; northcoast conservative; e rocc; pontiac; commiewatcher; las vegas dave; dr deb; DollyCali;
Pinging you to this article
No, teenagers shouldn't have the right to free speech. That's a parenting thing, though, and unless they mis-used school resources, the school should stay the heck out.
“so do high school kids not have a right to free speech?”
They are being acculturated to continue imagining that they have rights, so that they will be motivated to fight when the state demands their military services, but to behave according to the state-appointed authority’s definition of the boundaries on their “rights”. That’s what these temples of the state religion are designed to do. Didn’t you get the memo?

I, for one, certainly got the memo!
Thanks for your reminder.
Not sure if it’s of interest to your list but I certainly think it’s - at least on the surface - an example of what’s wrong.
Of course if they made videos of themselves at the shooting range they’d have been expelled and charged with felonies so at least the district is keeping this in perspective.
“My take is if they didn’t use school resources it’s none of the school’s business.”
You’ve got to remember that the school system in this country is in the hands of rabid, humorless Marxists.
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the burning of the school
We have vanquished every teacher - we have broken every rule
We plan to kill the principal at quarter after two
The school is burning down!
Glory, glory, hallelujah
My teacher hit me with a ruler
Met her up in heaven, back in 1327
And she ain’t my teacher no more “NO MORE”!
So why is this news. Kids have been doing this sort of stuff for centuries and civilization has survived it.
Some people have too much time on their hands.
Unless the videos were threatening in some way, this indeed is none of the school’s business.
that brought back some memories. I guess today the kids would get thrown in jail for singing that old song.
You know, its’ stuff like this - Bullies picking on the weaker ones, that lead to the black trench coated EMO’s to come to school and shoot the place up.
My guess is that the same people here crying free speech would be the same ones to chastise the school for NOT doing anything if one of the targets shot the school up, and this video was later revealed.

It’s obviously a terrorist anthem...............
TonyRo76 and Las Vegas Dave keeps the Ohio ping list.
But that’s not what happened. You compare this to something completely unrelated and very much more serious and claim that’s an argument?? Maybe an empty one, without merit.
Since the article is vague on all of these subjects, no one can really tell if the right thing was done or not
