I like both options but I think a Thompson\Romney ticket would be the best. Romney is younger and would be better at running for president after 8 years of Thompson.

Well, Fred ,really, really needs to win South Carolina. For that matter, so does Huckabee. McCain, Romney and Rudy likely go forward no matter what after South Carolina.

This is the time if Fred is gonna speak in a way that will resonate.

We commend your bringing out well researched historical detail. What is the similar record for McCain, do you know?

HUNTER, by the fifth ballot

...gives McCainiac the nomination and BJ Clinton's 3rd and 4th term with the Oval Office sink.

They won’t play well in Tennessee. In fact, no one would even know that an election will be held in a little over two weeks, in West Tennessee.

Do your own research. I’ll give you a little hint. The Memphis Commercial Appeal will yield quite a lot. Starting with 1993, July.

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please God allow either a Thompson/Romney or Romney/Thompson ticket. I prefer the first as Thompson will be way to old to run in 2012, but Mitt will be young enough to.

Worst case scenario of Hillary actually winning the WH, do you honestly believe she would serve 2 terms?

Worst case scenario of Hillary actually winning the WH...

She'll be president-in-name-only... Rapist42 will be calling the major plays. Her Heinous will devote her time to the Marxist-socialist, domestic agenda.

We are in one of those open playoff situations.

Giuliani may pull it off by Feb 5.

Just stay up and alert.

More Fred Fun facts:

On September 12, 1996, the Senate voted (57-42) to keep an anti-gun amendment off of the Treasury-Postal appropriations bill (H.R. 3756). The Kerry amendment — which Thompson voted for– would have made funds available for a study of tagging explosive materials, including black and smokeless powders (thus setting the stage for registering ammunition). The amendment also sought to further demonize firearms by selectively examining the misuse of firearms by criminals. The study would not examine the number of times firearms are used to save the lives of decent citizens.

If you're relying on the laughable GOA "report" on Thompson, you should know they've corrected this (hit-tip ellery):

The most egregious problem in GOA's report on Thompson was their report on Thompson's vote on gunpowder taggants. The Kerry gunpowder taggant amendment that Thompson voted on was a vote to table, i.e., kill the amendment. That is a pro-gun vote -- but until recently, they reported that his vote was in favor of gunpowder taggants. I just discovered they've updated it, which is fine -- but according to the Internet Wayback Machine, GOA was spreading wrong and very damning information for at least four months. Considering the stakes here, it's shameful that GOA was so negligent on such an important issue, and it calls into question their reliability on everything else. Here is a link to the actual vote, followed by a link to GOA's original bad information:

People need to stop running down Fred Thompson even if they arn’t supporting him.

Out of curiosity, does this plea extend to all candidates?
