All the others have peaked already and Fred is on the upward move.
No matter how Fred does this Saturday, Fred needs to continue on as long as his money holds out.

1. Statistical Tie for 2nd in the South Carolina Polls
From the latest Rasmussen poll in South Carolina where Fred is in a statistical tie for 2nd place:
Over the past several days, the only real movement in South Carolinas Republican Presidential Primary has been a four-point gain for Fred Thompson and a five-point decline for Mike Huckabee.
2. Fundraising Goals Surpassed Three Times in a Row
The Friends of Fred (all 13,000+ and counting new ones) have been donating in record numbers, crushing every goal the campaign sets for them:
UPDATE II: We crossed the $1 million mark. We started filling the red truck Friday, January 4. So give or take a few hours weve averaged $100,000/day. We set three goals, and you met every one. With your gifts you have given Fred the resources he needs to convey is conservative message. Be proud of your accomplishment.
3. Website Traffic Velocity
Here is a graph (click to enlarge) of the amount of attention each GOP Candidates website is getting. Notice Fred08.com is number two. Rudy, Romney and Huckabee have all peaked. This directly translates into donations and new voters.
4. McCain is being booed by conservatives in Michigan (twice) and Fred just started his new ad buy in South Carolina

It’s up to the voters of South Carolina.
The Romney win may hurt McCain in SC and help Fred. Much is at stake. If Fred could actually win in SC, everything changes.
The MSM does not want Fred Thompson to win. Yesterday, Romney was dead in the water. He’ll get some notice, but will a NE Republican play well in South Carolina?

The only signs that matter are winning state primary votes. Win SC and then you have something.

To answer that, I'll ask you this ? can McCain win in the south ?

Don’t you wonder how I knew you were at The Warrior?
I was one of the first donors outside of Marquette to The Warrior. I’ve posted some threads about the Warrior when it first started.
I just guessed you must be with The Warrior since you are an active Republican at Marquette. I hope the Warrior keeps its focus as an alternative to the liberal campus paper.
I was once the managing editor of an alternative campus paper...many years ago.
Keep the faith.

McCain can’t win in the South.
Romney can’t win in the South.
Huckabee can win in the South.
Romney can win in the West.
Romney can’t win in the real Midwest.
Huckabee can’t win in the West, North or East.
Fred can win in the South, Midwest and West.

Sounds good to me .... GO FRED !!!
Wish there was a way we can get the word to Snerdly to talk to Rush and have Rush do a Fredathon for the next 3 days on his show extolling the positives about Fred.
More importantly, Rush talking to the evangelicals.....
Come on Rush !!! take the next 3 days and help Fred, we know you are not going to endorse him directly, but, you can come up with some creative ways to help Fred.

Website Traffic Velocity Here is a graph (click to enlarge) of the amount of attention each GOP Candidates website is getting. Notice Fred08.com is number two. Rudy, Romney and Huckabee have all peaked. This directly translates into donations and new voters. Not sure this accurately describes what the statistic in the graph measures. Look at the description on the page when you open the graphic. It's more like rate of change of traffic. Not traffic. So if you look at the other measures (page visits etc), Thompson is still way below other candidates.

I've been listening to Rush over the last couple of weeks (and four years), and I think he's come about as close to endorsing Fred as he is going to, given his promise to not endorse anyone in a primary. Repeatedly he has said that there's one candidate on our side that is the closest to a solid conservative, and it's easy to infer that he's talking about Fred. That might be all we get, and neither Snerdly, Dawn, Rush's "mistresses", or those on his Top 10 female names list will change his mind on that.

More Fred Fun facts:
On September 12, 1996, the Senate voted (57-42) to keep an anti-gun amendment off of the Treasury-Postal appropriations bill (H.R. 3756). The Kerry amendment which Thompson voted for would have made funds available for a study of tagging explosive materials, including black and smokeless powders (thus setting the stage for registering ammunition). The amendment also sought to further demonize firearms by selectively examining the misuse of firearms by criminals. The study would not examine the number of times firearms are used to save the lives of decent citizens.
