This test is exceedingly faulty (I came up 82% toward McCain, who is as moderate as the day is long.). I support the Political Compass, which has done a graph of the candiates based on their positions. It’s much more accurate and trustworthy. You can take the test at the website and compare your score to theirs.

Thompson 70 Dis=Immigration, energy
Hunter 65
McCain 63
Huckabee 50

Seems pretty fair assessment to me. Anything that shows me adamantly opposed to the side of the street upon which Obama or Clinton walk is probably rightly ordered. And this showed me giving them each a 7 out of 100. That would be agreeing on the death penalty. I think they’re pandering on that one, though, so it’s really zero. And that would be exactly correct.

Hard to understand, as I disagree with McCain on immigration, and marked it as very important.

1.McCain = 74
2.Thompson = 60

WTF over?

I think this poll is skewed in some way to bump McCain. There is no way in hell that he agrees with my red meat conservative positions, the strongest of which is my position on illegal immigration.

I want the fence built, no gov’t assistance to illegals, prosecution of employers who hire them, no automatic birth rights, deportations, etc. McCain sponsored the Amnesty Bill, for Pete’s sake! No possible way is he my man.

At least Fred was my number two....sheesh

Thompson
Hunter

Didn’t even bother to look at the rest. The order should be flipped for me. Said I disagreed with them on immigration, but my position seems pretty close. I agreed strongly with:

I favor stiff fines for employers who hire illegal immigrants, a security fence along the border, and a denial of citizenship to children born here of parents who are in the U.S. illegally. I oppose any form of amnesty.

McCain (46)

Thompson (45)

Hunter (45)

Romney (40)

For someone who's long been huntin' with Hunter, I was surprised to find out that I'm actually a McCainiac.

Mcain, Hunter, Thompson...

Edwards on the bottom--a 1. But Hillary isn't here--does that mean she's a 0 in my book?

From the outcome of my quiz — I’m convinced the program code to select the best fit is rigged....

There is no way McCain is more in line with my thinking than Duncan Hunter or Fred Thompson.

Clinton = 5
Obama = 5

These two are down in the very basement of my list. Can’t say I’m surprised, but what’s so illuminating is how strongly they disagree with me on EVERYTHING, except the death penalty.

It’s just scary that so many millions of Americans are supporting such contra-survival positions, and politicians who are just plain selling out the very concept of America. Just scary...

Thompson & Hunter 70
McCain 66
Romney 54
Huckster 49
Paul 48
Rudy 39
Richardson 15
Obama 8
Hillary 5

Only surprising thing was Paul. I did another quiz that called me a “libertarian radical-leaning anarcho-capitalist”. I thought he’d be closer to my opinions. Maybe he’s just a nut.

Although I would rank McCain somewhere between the Hildebeast and Kusinich, their poll says McCain's my guy.

A couple of election cycles ago, I remember McCain going berserk during a debate with George W. Bush and Alan Keyes. His performance, like an out-of-control five-year-old, convinced me that he has a mental or emotional instability that should disqualify him from being anywhere near nuclear triggers.

If the poll had included questions on the McCain-Feingold Incumbent Protection Act and mental stability, I think the results would have been different.
