Since "unrestricted' private ownership of guns clearly threatens the public safety, the 2nd Amendment can be interpreted to allow a variety of gun restrictions, according to the Bush administration.
The argument was delivered by U.S. Solicitor General Paul D. Clement in a brief filed with the U.S. Supreme Court in the ongoing arguments over the legality of a District of Columbia ban on handguns in homes, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times.
Clement suggested that gun rights are limited and subject to "reasonable regulation" and said all federal limits on guns should be upheld.

You may have a point, then they can enact Marshall Law.
What are your thoughts on mini-14 vs AK?
That’s the bad guys’ gun. My little brother has one and my older brother has an SKS but those weapons are just not sexy enough. I’m getting one chambered for the 6.8 bullet so the ammo’s going to be a lot more expensive too.
i know. i put less than 500 thru my .45 this year. i was just getting bored with it. its a compact and doesn’t shoot too well past about 15 yards. my sig shoots about the same grouping at 50 yards, and i put alot more thru that, but i doubt i broke 2,000. .38 super is a pita to reload but its alot more accurate. i put 50 rounds thru it saturday making sure i could still shoot it. i’m starting to get decent with it on bowling pins.
i’m starting to really prefer revolvers tho. i picked up 5 last year. (.22, .32, .38, .38, .44)
It should read “Private ownership of guns is a threat to public officials”. Nuff said.
Thanks for the ping. Excellent quote. I’m copying it here so I don’t have to go looking for it.

Sounds like you have a lot of nice toys.
i’m working on it :)
He started betraying us years ago. Never forget.
All you folks who do not vote for Thompson in our primaries are effectively voting for this kind of gun control. Further, you are directly advocating the oxymoronic Compassionate Conservatism stupidity. (And if pissant whants to sound off - yes Hunter would be the same as Thompson but he STILL doesn’t have a prayer).
Just when I am resigned to accept the unbelievable from Bush something more unbelievable shows up. It’s as if he is actively seeking the the worst President award.

I’m pleasantly surprised clearly the president has grown while in office 0.05% (2)
AK Clones.....find a MAK90 if ya can. Romainian imports of AK clones’s are in my personal experience well made . I have a MAK90 & A Romanian AK clone. Both have given me no grief and are as or more accurate than a Mini-14. The Mini 14 is reliable as are my two AK Clones.
Krebs is the best AK Clone if your wallet can manage the cost.
Accuracy Systems are the ones that can milk the best accuracy from a mini-14

Assuming from your comment that you have read the brief - perhaps you can enlighten us?
I'll never forget, when Bush first went into office years ago, someone I totally respect told me this guy was real bad news...He could not have been more correct. He had this guy pegged.
He got over that one a long time ago.
My dad is hot on the Mini and he bought me one. IMO it is ok, but I really like the AR better.
I prefer the AK's caliber, and if the price is right, reliability is there and the accuracy is good-enough, I look into getting one.
My heart is with the AR though.
