Bork: “I don’t think that Senator McCain or Governor Huckabee deserves to be called a conservative.”
National Review ^

Judge Bork said that if one of them is the nomination, the conservative moment is in trouble, because "neither one of them is remotely a conservative."

Potty humor is NOT becoming of ANY presidential candidate. The little respect that I had for Huckabee has now ridden. For a presidential candidate to make sophomoric reference to another’s bowel habits just gave me the creeps.

You really can’t tell the difference, can you?

Intelligence and knowledge are under Huck’s control. He has demonstrated lacking in both fields.

Age is not under Fred’s control. He has not demonstrated any incontinence.

Thus, my comment is directly on point, your comment is more juvenile potty humor.

You’re just not ready for prime time.

P.S.: “junvenile” is not a word in any language I know. What does it mean?

During last nights debate McCain made a point that his state is one of the states with the worst illegal immigration problem.
How is that a plus?
He’s been Az. Senator for how long without doing anything about the problem?

The Huckster started the fight by pretending to be a conservative.

He’s a socialist with an embarrassing shortfall in knowledge about foreign affairs.

Pssst! Huck! How do you spell NIE?

Did you hear the Huckster apologize for the Bhutto assassination?

I wonder what role he played in her death.

He says odd things at odd times at the very least. And the whole Holiday Inn Express thing is the sillinesss that *I* deal in all day long, but for a presidential candidate’s mind to veer to it—and then for him voice it in a serious conversation about tedious world affairs—comes off as a strange new strain of puerile Tourette’s or something.

I can’t imagine not voting, but otherwise I agree with your order of acceptable candidates.

That’s a Romney site. Not a true source. Need something like a press release. I just cannot believe that Bork would endorse Romney who is a total flip-flopper. If Romney were to be sued on any of these cases — abortion, homosexuality, healthcare, same sex marriages, etc. — where he has flip-flopped............Romney would lose. Bork has more brains than that.

Bork didn’t already know that the conservative movement is toast in this country? Where has he been?

Rush (in his words and in print on his website):

"It is absurd and you're going to have to really gut it up here because the Drive-By Media is doing everything it can to disqualify the true conservatives on the Republican side. They're saying, "Romney, he can't win. If he loses Michigan, he's done." They said that about Romney in Iowa, they said that about Romney in New Hampshire. Now Fred Thompson apparently scored."

Research before posting is usually helpful.

The conservative movement is in trouble anyway.

The Republican Party has decided that pandering to the left for votes is more important than conservative principles.

Even after losing in 2006, they still don’t get it.

So you don’t respect her choice to support a real conservative candidate because it isn’t YOUR conservative guy?

“Who did Coulter endorse?”

Duncan Hunter, as far as I’m concerned, as good a choice as Fred Thompson but lacking in reality. The guy’s never going to win a thing. At least Thompson’s pulling in delegates.

“So you don’t respect her choice to support a real conservative candidate because it isn’t YOUR conservative guy?”

No, not at all. If Hunter was pulling in delegates and coming in third (with some momemntum behind him), I’d probably be there with her saying “Go Duncan!”. But when the reality hits of Hunter polling 1% or less and zero name recognition outside of FReepers, I have to turn to Fred. He’s got some delegates, and if he can hold on, maybe gain in the South and West. Duncan’s not doing this.

It’s admirable to take a stand, but while we conservatives do so and dilute any effectiveness we might have, a Romney or Huck will waltz in the front door.
