'SEXIST' PROTESTERS DISRUPT HILLARY (UPDATE - protester admits to being a Republican)
NYDaily News ^ | Jan 7, 2008 | Michael McAulifft

Posted on 01/07/2008 9:08:50 PM PST by digger48

A couple of yahoos interrupted Hillary Clinton’s speech tonight in Salem by waving big signs and chanting “Iron my shirts!”

Clinton asked that the lights be turned on, apparently to see them better and declared. “Oh the remnants of sexism, alive and well tonight,” to applause.

She then talked about breaking glass ceilings, before joking as the pair were hustled out: “If there’s anybody in the audience who wants to learn to iron his own shirt, we can talk about that.”

We followed.to ask what the heck they were thinking.

Nick Gemelli, who is 21, and born at least a decade after “iron my shirts” was an anti-women’s rights slogan, didn’t have much of a rationale. “I just don’t think a woman should be President,” he said.

He couldn’t really say why, but he agreed that he was a health care voter, as the sticker on his carrying case implied. The “Hillary for President” sticker was a bit more of a puzzle.

He said he had just been given both and peeled them off. He said he had no connection to any campaign.

At least he got some attention. His friend — a la Bart Simpson — said his name was Hugh Jas, but The Mouth later learned that his real name is Adolfo Gonzalez Jr.

Update Adolfo apparently has a MySpace page that says he is a Republican who doesn’t do drugs or have a girlfriend, and calls himself “Captain Fun.” He did seem to enjoy himself more than Nick.

In 1992 there were no Rush clones like Hannity, Savage, Ingrham, Reagan, Hewitt, Medivden, O'Reily, Beck etc etc etc.

Yeah, there were no martini drinkers before Rush...no American Spectator readers...none of that existed....:)

So, he “claims” to be a Republican, in the middle of 60 other sarcastic replies to questions on his web page.

He also claims to be a on-air radio host, and a Latin-American Protestant. (As if that makes sense logically: Nothing in his answers indicates anything remotely other than a loud-mouthed (possibly illegal-ancestry) alien from Dallas who an on-air radio host from Massachusetts. In other words, a sarcastic liberal.)

So-Called Sexist Protesters Seem A Little Too Convenient For Hillary

By Dave Gibson

Last night two men stood up during Hillary Clinton's speech in Salem, NH holding signs and chanting the demand: "Iron my shirt." Of course, a reference to a time when women were relegated only to cooking and cleaning. It was Hillary's reaction to the seemingly outdated heckling which made me believe that this was a staged event, designed to evoke sympathy from female voters while playing the role of martyr and long-suffering wife.

Hillary responded to the hecklers by declaring to the audience: "Ah, the remnants of sexism--alive and well."

Strangely, she then asked: "Can we turn the lights on? It's awfully dark here for everybody." The police came in as if on cue and removed the young protesters before a jeering crowd.

Why did she suddenly want the lights on?

The incident provided Hillary a convenient segue to talk about supposedly still-looming sexism. Hillary went on: "As I think has been abundantly demonstrated, I am also running to break through the highest and hardest glass ceiling."

Give me a break!

I watched the incident on Youtube and saw that both heckling men were very young and one was a Michael Moore look-alike. As I listened to their message of "Iron my shirt," it became clear to me that these two did not seem to be angry, nor did they have a shred of conviction in their voices. They seemed to be acting and badly at that. They also looked a little too relaxed and were even chuckling as they were led away by police officers.

Let us consider the line itself...The comment "Iron my shirt!" would have undoubtedly been a cutting insult to a female candidate running for office during the 1970's. However in 2008, it simply sounds absurd and perhaps even confusing to those in their 20's. Only someone over the age of 50 would consider using such a tired line (Perhaps, a 50-year old Democrat campaign consultant).

So why would Hillary's campaign stage such an incident?...Simple. Her numbers are plummeting and support for Obama is growing larger everyday. A CNN/WMUR-TV poll has Obama with 39 percent to Hillary's 29 percent amongst likely Democratic New Hampshire voters. A Monday night Gallop/USA Today poll has Obama with a 13-point lead heading into the primary. Obama's big win in Iowa last week hurt Hillary, but her third place finish behind Edwards was devastating to her campaign.

The Obama machine also looks to bury Hillary in South Carolina at the end of the month, as Obama already has a double-digit lead over her. In short, people are obviously losing interest in Hillary and are becoming more and more excited about Obama. She is becoming desperate and a staged incident is certainly not out of the question for her, as we have seen her do in the past.

In November, a student at Grinnel College named Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff was told CNN that she was instructed by a Clinton staffer to ask her a question about climate change during an forum in Iowa. She also reported that she saw several others being briefed on what questions to ask Hillary before the event. The Clinton campaign did eventually admit to planting Gallo-Chasanoff but denied planting any others at the event.

My guess is that this "Iron my shirt" incident was a last ditch effort to remind women voters that she too is a woman and they must unite against all men and the best way to do that is to vote for Hillary!...Again, that may have worked in 1978, but not in 2008 with dozens of women in Congress, even more sitting on state and federal benches, several having served as Governors, and now with women serving and dying in combat. The glass ceiling was shattered long ago.

This seems to one more in a long line of dishonest acts on the part of the Clinton political machine. Unfortunately for Hillary, this one was a little too obvious and did not land with enough voters to beat Obama.

This is too funny.

Look, anyone who has listened to Kidd Kraddick in the morning over the last 4 or 5 years knows exactly who Adolfo is, and more importantly who Rich Shertenlieb is.

Kidd Kraddick hired Rich to be a 4th wheel, then Rich discovered Adolfo. Then Rich went to Boston taken Adolfo. Kidd Kraddick’s show has never been the same.

Rich is know for pulling these stunts. Here’s a link to his famous Augusta National stunt where he taunted Martha Burk a feminist trying to force Augusta to include women in the event.

And to be honest, Rich always had conservative leanings, because he and Kidd would argue about it quite often, with Kidd being the liberal.

Hmmmm ..?? While I am a firm believer in the husband being the head of the family .. let us not forget that JESUS CHOOSE A WOMAN TO START A CHURCH.

Remember the woman HE met at the well .. and while they were talking, she told Jesus she was not married .. HE told her she was correct .. that she had had many husbands, and she was not married to the man she was currently living with. She invited Jesus to her home, and she also invited all her friends and neighbors. A CHURCH WAS BORN. I’ve always personally believed she married - but maybe not - maybe she stayed single .. the Bible doesn’t tell us.

If people set their face against a female (chosen by God to lead the group), then they are doing themselves a disfavor. I’m not willing to put GOD in a box and say that HE cannot select anyone HE wants. GOD’s criteria is SUBMISSION TO HIM .. before anything else (whether male or female).

However, we do know that Hillary is probably not a Christian .. and therefore is not chosen by GOD to be the USA’s president.
