'SEXIST' PROTESTERS DISRUPT HILLARY (UPDATE - protester admits to being a Republican)
NYDaily News ^ | Jan 7, 2008 | Michael McAulifft

Posted on 01/07/2008 9:08:50 PM PST by digger48

A couple of yahoos interrupted Hillary Clinton’s speech tonight in Salem by waving big signs and chanting “Iron my shirts!”

Clinton asked that the lights be turned on, apparently to see them better and declared. “Oh the remnants of sexism, alive and well tonight,” to applause.

She then talked about breaking glass ceilings, before joking as the pair were hustled out: “If there’s anybody in the audience who wants to learn to iron his own shirt, we can talk about that.”

We followed.to ask what the heck they were thinking.

Nick Gemelli, who is 21, and born at least a decade after “iron my shirts” was an anti-women’s rights slogan, didn’t have much of a rationale. “I just don’t think a woman should be President,” he said.

He couldn’t really say why, but he agreed that he was a health care voter, as the sticker on his carrying case implied. The “Hillary for President” sticker was a bit more of a puzzle.

He said he had just been given both and peeled them off. He said he had no connection to any campaign.

At least he got some attention. His friend — a la Bart Simpson — said his name was Hugh Jas, but The Mouth later learned that his real name is Adolfo Gonzalez Jr.

Update Adolfo apparently has a MySpace page that says he is a Republican who doesn’t do drugs or have a girlfriend, and calls himself “Captain Fun.” He did seem to enjoy himself more than Nick.

Not your typical Republican website slogan.

Especially if they misspell "Viva." ;)

[... Why I never! ...]

Ahem. Did you ever consider that may be your problem?

There are still some things that I've never done, and I'd like to keep it that way.

Being called "pingy in the thread" may or may not be on the Never list.

Sorry Jo but outside Rush Limbaugh, Talk Radio virtually did not exist in 1992.

And Rush had not risen to the height he reached since. I am not sure of the exact numbers but Rush was only on about 300-400 stations in 1992.

In 1992 there were no Rush clones like Hannity, Savage, Ingrham, Reagan, Hewitt, Medivden, O'Reily, Beck etc etc etc. The Conservative message in Rush's 3 hours are now picked up and magnified by hundreds of echo chambers around the country now. In 1992 very little in the way of local political talk shows out side TV. Now there are thousands of stations that do political talk. In 1992 It was all Rush alone for only 3 hours a day in 1992.

No Fox News in 1992.

What became the Internet was a neat toy a bunch of techie geeks like me were playing with in 1992.

Both Perot and Clinton got away with it because there was no alternative media on them 24-7. In 1996 an improving economy, a tame "News media" and a weak Republican candidate keep Clinton in office. This is the 1st time the Clintons have had to fight a serious campaign under the glare of the Alternative media.

And thanks to 8 years of Bill we are much better prepared for their sleazy tricks this time.

Occam’s razor: If you CLAIM to be a Republican after pulling a stunt like this, you are, in all probability, not.

Think about it... If you’re a Republican, and you just did this thing and are being questioned, do you want your party to look like little-kid pranksters?

Well this just proves that those mean Republicans will use any dirty tricks they can. Real imaginative, don’t you think?
Were these the two guys we sent out to “fix” the voting machines? Or were they the guys that we hired to flatten the tires on Hillary’s bus.
Where are those darn voter fraud assignment sheets that all us FReeper’s were given at the secret meeting? I just hate when this happens.

...and a La Raza supporter. Why didn't they mention the La Raza part?

This guy’s in a few youtubes. I think he’s part of a Boston radio show made up of juvenile Howard Stern wannabes.

Well perhaps that was also a bad joke.

This is a guy claims he once worked for Kid Kraddick in the morning and has a site called:

.... http://www.adolfovschicken.com/

It might be just the sort of stupid humor he gets into.

nonsense. They were plants.

I remember feminism, and Iron my shirts was never a feminist slogan. It was, however, used by feminists to protest according to Fox.
