Scotland Yard looking for Benazir's headscarf

Scotland Yard investigators are looking for the headscarf slain former premier Benazir Bhutto was wearing at the time of being shot outside Rawalpindi's Liaqat Bagh area on December 27....

"The headscarf of Benazir Bhutto is likely to resolve the mystery which swirls around the fact that whether she was shot in the head from right or left", police sources said.

"The scarf would carry the corresponding cut/cuts on it which may help the investigators in ascertaining bullet direction and size", they added.

According to the eye-witnesses, a shooter as well as a suicide bomber attacked the Benazir Bhutto from her left, but the medical evidence suggested an open wound on her right temporal region.

The contradiction leads to doubts that assassinated former premier was targeted by more than one marksman from separate directions.

I’m going to go with “no-one in Pakistan” as it clearly wasn’t retained by their SOC team.

Scotland Yard is Brilliant! If they can just find the scarf, they will know what happened. Digging up the broad and looking at her head would probably be a waste of time.

Scotland Yard team suspects sniper might have shot BB (excerpt: see full story at Daily Times [Pakistan]

ISLAMABAD: The Scotland Yard team investigating the murder of former premier Benazir Bhutto has suspected that a sniper might have shot her, a Pakistani police officer working with the team told Daily Times on Sunday. He said, “Besides some other angles, the British team is also working on the assumption that a sniper could have shot Benazir dead.” Sources said the British team had visited the crime scene and examined the buildings surrounding the area, yet they were far from reaching any conclusion.

Did they check over by the grassy knoll or the sewer grate?

That's WHY there's a Scotland!! Overlook the obvious??

The scarf is one thing and it may or may not have a hole in it. But her clothes had to be bloody as well along with the top of the car.

Scotland Yard is Brilliant!

Naw! A Hollywood striking writer needed to freelance and sold the script for a future CSI Miami episode.

Whoever thought of doing an autopsy on apparel is a genius. In America, we would have to do it on the body. The Europeans are so advanced.

I once heard a homicide detective say that there are 3 key questions to ask in a murder investigation: what happened, who did it and why? Given the vagaries of human motivation, we seldom can answer the why-question with any confidence. Sometimes we can figure out who did it; often we can’t. Yet, almost always, he said, we can figure out what happened. Perhaps it is too late for that here.

Are you joking?

Is forensics in America so basic that you only look at the bodies? Of course not.

Are you joking?

Yes

I was actually being sarcastic. If you want to know if she was shot in the head, look at her head! The fact that they say they are looking for the scarf means they didn't require access to the body before agreeing to participate. In other words, it is a cover up

How do you know that they have not required access to the body?

Or maybe ... just maybe ... they want to track the direction of the shot? It depends on how she wore the headscarf, granted.

The headscarf of Benazir Bhutto is likely to resolve the mystery which swirls around the fact that whether she was shot in the head from right or left"

Because this wouldn't be necessary and the Paki's put her in the grave without an autopsy faster than lightening
